Distinctive bowls February 28, 2006 Scott Burright (Laramie, WY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As advertised, these are the right size for ramen, udon, etc. Blue dragons aren't the easiest motif to find, for some reason. Slightly below this in quality, there's a line of "rice" pattern tableware from China that looks interesting, and going up from here, you might find discontinued fine china patterns like Mikasa's Imperial Dragon, which is gorgeous. These bowls are about the only thing in between. That's hard to believe, but I've scoured the net, and there it is. The picture does not reflect the true color of the glaze, which is a pale green, milky-jade crackle glaze-- nice, but not what I thought I was getting. No one will mistake this for Ming Dynasty porcelain, but it's fine for everyday use. They're listed here for about $20, and I would have paid that if I'd had to, but you can find them for less than half that elesewhere on the net. Just be prepared to wait a few weeks.
