Designed in 1962 by Harold Holdcroft, Royal Albert's Old Country Roses has become one of the most popular china patterns in the company's century-long history. The sumptuous design is enhanced by the pieces' sophisticated shape, graceful floral ornamentation, and rich feminine colors, with a style and elegance that are uniquely English. An afternoon tea party would not be complete without this collectible tea cup and saucer set. A background of soft peppermint damask gracefully showcases the timeless pink and yellow country roses. Set on a bed of greenery, the delicate flowers resemble those growing in a classic English garden. A hand-trimmed border in 22-carat gold decorates both the tea cup and saucer and completes the romantic design. The saucer measures 5-1/2 inches in diameter, while the tea cup holds 6-1/2 ounces and is adorned with an ornately arched handle. Original cup/saucer arrived broken. I returned it & Amazon took care of getting replacement out.Arrived in perfect condition. Arrived before estimated date.

Although I do think this cup is attractive, I was replacing an old Royal Albert and the quality has changed. It is not as delicate and I noticed that it is now made in China.

I ordered this cup and saucer along with several others of these Royal Albert collectibles and am quite satisfied with each of the patterns. They are all lovely. The background colors are bright and unique and the roses are the color and quality I expect from Royal Albert. Each were well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. I withheld the final and 5th star because they are a bit pricey but obviously didn't let that deter me. All things considered, this items adds a lot to a spot of tea.

I love this cup and saucer set. I have purchased 6 cups and saucers over time. This is a beautiful set - absolutely lovely.
