a tad pricey, which was ok if it was perfect, but the top doesn't QUITE occlude with the bottom. it's close. but when one is giving a gift, and taking the time to hand-write recipes to put in it .... well, one wishes for perfection. alas. fits with the decor tho. *shrug*

The recipe box arrived in a timely fashion. It is sturdy thus far, but keep in mind that I've only had it in the kitchen a few days. The lid is polished while the rest is not, which might frustrate some people, and it is a flip lid like other recipe boxes that I've seen. As a result, the lid will not snap into place, just rest. Regarding price, I found Amazon to have the widest variety. I did not feel that plastic would hold up to years of use, and I wanted a box that wouldn't need replacing in 2-3 years. So I spent more than I had planned, but I feel better about this one than the alternatives. Plus the color will go with many decors, and the box doesn't have excessive bulk like some of the wooden boxes.
