Good coffee maker POOR QUALITY October 24, 2007 DH (Brooklyn, NY) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Makes good coffee. I like the thermal carafe because it keeps coffee hot longer and can you take it to table. I didn't give it 5 stars because plastic is a little poorly made. But it works and the price was good. UPDATE: Since I wrote above I decided to return it. The plastic is very poor quality and is warping. Edges don't line up well. Not worth keeping. I would change the stars to only 2.
I love the Black & Decker thermal coffee makers January 25, 2008 M Cooper 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For years I have used a Black & Decker thermal coffee maker. The coffee stays fresh and warm for hours. Plus I can sneak a cup while it is still brewing. I am still using my old B & D themal coffee maker which is better made than this one, but I have certainly gotten my monies worth and I am sure I will with this one when I am ready to use it. My son loves this coffee maker,so I recently brought him the stainess steel 10 cup Black & Decker thermal coffee maker for his office.
Coffee Maker February 23, 2008 Marvin Tooley 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've looked for a long time to find a glass thermos type carafe/coffee maker and this is the only one we found. We think all the stainless steel carafe types impart a metallic taste. We're sightly disappointed in how long it keeps the coffee hot even when tempered. Otherwise everything else about the coffee maker is fine. Also, we were supposed to get free super saver shipping with this item but somehow being on the same order as some other items caused that to fall through and we wound up paying a hefty shipping fee for this item. We'll be careful to place separate orders in the future. Black & Decker TCM450B 8-Cup Coffee Maker Black& Decker 12-Cup Coffeemaker
pretty good but ... May 9, 2008 W. W. Wager This is my second B&D coffee maker. I liked the first one better. This one is a fine coffee maker except for the carafe lid has to be put on by aligning two black marks, and poured by aligning two other black marks. Use some whiteout so you can see the marks. If the marks are not aligned when pouring it dribbles all over the place. Another inconvenience is that it has to pulled out from under the cabinets to fill it, unlike the past B&D coffee maker that had a removable water tank (I liked that feature). Other than that I would give it 5 stars
Not up to Black & Decker standards... May 23, 2008 Richard C. Robinson (Martin, TN USA) We previously owned a Black & Decker standard glass carafe coffee maker, and were extremely pleased with it. We then went through a Gevalia branded thermal carafe drip coffee machine, and loved it. When it finally quit working, we purchased this machine, and have been very disappointed. It's cheaply made, and the carafe leaks. We are constantly having to mop up drips and the carafe doesn't pour well. It makes "okay" coffee, but this product is definitely NOT up to Black & Decker standards. If you want a good drill or saw, get a Black & Decker. If you want a good coffee maker, get another brand!
