4 out of 5 stars Meet the New 90's Pop Big Voiced Diva   May 13, 2008
Flap Jackson (State Road, NC)
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

Leona Lewis has seemingly come out of nowhere to have the number one album and song in the world, and vocally, to me at least, she seems to trump Mariah, Celine, and all those 90's divas. And this song showcases that to the nth degree. Yep, like it or not, those days are making a comeback.

The song is an universally inspirational ballad, in the same vein of "You Raise Me Up," and so many others, complete with huge chorus and finale. Taken from the famous poem I believe, Leona belts out the song in such unoriginal fashion, most people will have serious deja vu, but that won't stop them from eating it up. It could be a huge song on any number of radio formats, and it's the perfect world eating follow-up to "Bleeding Love."

Overall, if you love this type of song, this is about the best thing that's ever happened to you, it rivals Josh Groban, and if they play their cards right, it could dominate radio for years to come. As for me, I'm a little on the blah side, although it doesn't irk me as much as the 90's divas. Nope, Leona is better, and she could be the next big thing. Look out 90's divas, you have some much-needed competition.

We'll be adding even more exciting features to assist you in the coming year.
