Customer Reviews:
Definitely Independent September 16, 2008 Michael Kerner (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) There is no doubt that this past year has been a much harder year for artists to really deliver quality songs. For Ne-Yo though, he has shown a bit more promise with sensitivity and heart in his songs. That has shown with a soft and strong Hip-Hop, yet sophistitcated style on his latest single Miss Independent, the second single from his 3rd album, Year Of The Gentleman. The song actually rings a bell on not just the lyrics, but the feeling of the song, which when you hear it, you see and feel the reasons of a mans' desire into loving a woman heart and soul. Honestly, I have to give thumbs up to Ne-Yo for at least making good rhymes and reason, than making a song that feels like a piece of garbage. That is something that acts like Rihanna, Ashanti and Jordin Sparks could really learn as a hard lesson. I really hope Ne-Yo's next single can really work just as well as Miss Independent does.
