Great Biz Info for Small Companies and Solo-Entrepreneurs January 30, 2003 Cathy Stucker (Sugar Land, TX USA) 25 out of 43 found this review helpful
I've been an Inc. subscriber for more than seven years. If you own a business, or are thinking about starting one, you'll find lots of great information every month in Inc. Even though my company doesn't look like the companies typically profiled, there are ideas there that can be used to build my business. Heck, even if the only thing I read in each issue was Norm Brodsky's column, I'd figure I'd gotten my money's worth. Brodsky has a very down-to-earth approach to business, and his Street Smarts column offers sensible insights on starting, operating and growing a business. Read Inc. to pick up the little gems you'll find sprinkled through the magazine. You never know where that million-dollar idea will come from!
Helping Your Business Grow November 11, 2004 Bryan Carey (Houston, TX) 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
Inc. magazine is a publication designed to guide small businesses on their path to prosperity. With Inc., you get timely advice on taxes, marketing, financing, and many other important considerations and challenges that business owners face every day. Probably the strongest point of Inc. is the way it presents important information to readers. The authors of this magazine get directly to the point. They don't waste your time with petty discussions and attempts to soften the blow of an undesirable fact. Even when the news is bad, like with regulations, taxation, etc., Inc. lets you have it in a direct manner. This is good, because I get annoyed by magazines that try to ease the reader into hearing some unwelcome news and then try to downplay the facts. Inc. writers are direct, and I respect them for that. If there were some criticisms to be made about this magazine, I can think of only two: The lack of articles geared toward startup businesses and the tendency of the magazine to highlight success stories that, while nice to read about, present personal success that is a little out of reach of most business owners. Inc. is designed for small businesses that are already established and need some guidance for growth. This is fine, but I would like it a little better of there were more articles on getting a new business off the ground. And, every now and them the magazine goes off on a tangent and interviews someone who is very rich. Again, this is ok, but I would prefer to read about ordinary people who are only moderately well- off because these stories and the individual level of success they portray are more realistic. Still, Inc. is a very good publication for small business owners. It provides some good, timely advice on how to help your young business grow and how to handle legal issues and concerns. The price to subscribe is low, too, making Inc. magazine a must for owners of small, growing companies.

Been a fan for nearly 20 years May 10, 2004 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I have been a regular reader of Inc. Magazine since 1985. I love this magazine and although it is hard to put my finger on any one item that stands out, I particularly enjoy the Inc. 500 feature and the listing of the top cities in America for business. It was through Inc.,or should I say, because of Inc. Magazine that I choose to move to my present home in sunny, beautiful Orlando, Fl. A truely dynamic city that has consistently been listed as one of the top three fastest growing cities in America. This dynamic city is still growing. Inc first started listing Orlando back in 1985.The articles are excellent. As for regular features and stories, I especially like the success stories like the one on Mr. Powell in the current issue. It is great to see the diverse ways that people succeed in business. Besides success stories, I have found the various business articles fascinating. I love the technology articles and the investment articles as well. Inc. Magazine is so complete. Itotally agree with the reviewer that said that he would not be in business without it. Really, how did business people survive prior to Inc. Magazine? The online service is also outstanding and I like the opportunity to select archives. Inc is one great publication. If you are a business person and want to succeed, read Inc.

I don't know a single super-successful business person, and I know hundreds from coast to coast, who do not read and recommend Inc. MAGAZINE. INC. is the single best business magazine, bar none.
