Works for me May 26, 2003 M. E. Newell (Marietta, Georgia, United States) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Ever since USA Today started publishing, it has been made fun of. And can't understand why. This a great paper that gives its readers the facts that they need to get though the day. One of the main reason that I enjoy USA Today it has little advertisements, unlike my local paper. It also give me news from everystate. USA Today is great paper for readers looking for just the facts and not alot of fluff.

I've been a subscriber of USA Today for about 15 years. I eagerly look forward to each issue. It's an outstanding and lively newspaper that offers interesting, timely, and informative articles which you'd never find in your local paper. I recommend it highly!
News From the USA and Around the World October 26, 2005 Bryan Carey (Houston, TX) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
USA Today is known as America's newspaper. It is one of the few nationally distributed newspapers and it is the main news source for many people who rely on their daily USA Today routine to get their fill of important news. It covers news stories on a national and international basis, providing news with a much broader scope than you get with most locally published and distributed newspapers. What sets USA Today apart from other newspapers is its colors and is surveys/polls. Each section of USA Today is distinguished by its color, with the front section sporting the blue USA Today logo; the Sports section red; the Money section green; and the Life section purple. Then, there are the polls that pop up from one section to the next. These polls are usually trivial in nature and have little or nothing to do with the newspaper's contents on a given day. But they make the reading more interesting with topics that span across a wide range of subjects. One poll might show the percentage of people who prefer different places for vacation destinations. Another poll might show the percentage people surveyed who have been bitten by a dog and the severity of the bite. Another poll might show the percentile breakdown of Americans' retirement portfolio value. These polls, and the added colors of the paper, make it more appealing to the eye, more friendly, and more inviting. Because USA Today covers such a wide range of material, the detail is sometimes lacking in this paper. You will not find many personal stories and the different sections are often a little to broad in coverage to enjoy as much as those with a smaller paper. This is why some people prefer their local paper to USA Today. The national/international scope makes it easy to find out about big stories in the U.S. and the world, but it also means there is less space to go into detail and not nearly enough room to cover personal stories. Another thing some people don't like about this paper is that, since it is delivered by the postal service (and not your local delivery man), there is a good chance you won't have it in your hands until later in the day. This is bad for those who like to read the paper in the morning, before leaving for work. I get mine and read it at work, so the delivery problem isn't an issue for me. Still, I can see how this would discourage some from subscribing to this paper. USA Today is issued five times per week, with a weekend edition printed on Fridays that is intended to encompass the last few days of the week into one issue. It isn't a newspaper for everyone, and it does have some qualities that make it less desirable that other news sources. But I find it to be generally good, with a few exceptions, and I will continue to include it as part of my daily intake of news and official information.
Decent Paper February 28, 2003 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
The USA Today is a decent paper that gets you covered in the news. Its filled w/ color photos and graphics that help attract the younger readers. It also simplifies stats with charts or photos to make things more understandable. Also to me when I read the paper I see more political biases in articles than I see with other papers. I would recommend your state paper or for some real in depth news try New York Times ...Now I subscribe to my state paper.

No real substance, just the facts. It's good if you dont want to read to much. For something more indepth try NY Times.
