Basic but true. March 20, 2005 Julie S. (Wytheville, VA) 33 out of 37 found this review helpful
I had a subscription to Brio for ages when I was younger. It is wholesome and encourages girls to make the right choices in life based on the Bible. After a while, though, I realized that I kept hearing the same topics again and again, and they weren't ones I had trouble with - topics like not having sex before marriage and listening to music that sends a good message and obeying your parents and why the Bible says that witchcraft is wrong. These are all wonderful topics, of course, but growing up in a Christian community, I'd heard them all before. Bottom line, Brio is a good magazine, an alternative to secular teen-oriented magazines, but I would not recommend it to Christian girls who are looking for in-depth Bible studies and many spiritually helpful articles that go past the "basics". I recommend it to younger Christians who may not have been given much Bible-based advice in their life and are trying to find whether or not they are leading their lives in a way that will please God.

Brio is a great magazine for Christian girls. The magazine has friendly staff that take questions in the mail or on the computer. There is good advice that is helpful to all girls: clothes, make-up, guys, school and much, much more. Beauty tips and music reviews are given also. The fashion articles give the best ways to be stylish and modest. At the end of every issue there is a Bible study to follow along with for that month; to help you learn Scripture and be a better Christian. The magazine is awesome!

I have read this magazne for about a year now! It is a wonderful christian guide for younger teen girls! It is packed full of great advice on EVERYTHING teen girls would like to know ( but in a Godely manner )! I love this magazine and re-read it over and over! ( I also look back at old ones for advice when in doubt )! RECOMMENDED BY ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got that magazine last year and frankly, I'm disappointed. I am a Christian, so I thought I'd give that a try, but it was very plain and frankly very boring. It had little things that girls like, like clothes, makeup, tips, etc.On the positive side, it does have good help information. I would suggest that if you have a teen girl, try the magazine "Justine" which is wholesome and hip and for the more conservative reader.
This is Christian??? November 30, 2005 Bosse 14 out of 52 found this review helpful
A friend ordered me a subscription to Brio, and, frankly, it disgusted me. It talks about God in a hip, "funny" (yeah right) way that any Christian should think is slightly disrespectful and at least one article about guys is ALWAYS in the contents. I couldn't believe this is considered a "Christian girl" magazine. When I get mine I throw it straight in the garbage, where it belongs.
