4 out of 5 stars Modern knitting mag   September 1, 2005

Creative Knitting is relatively new to the knitting market, a welcome addition. While I haven't subscribed yet, I pick up copies at the newstand and have generally found the quality of the patterns, styles, and articles to be pretty good. The directions for the garments that I've made have been accurate and error free. Except for things like bikinis (who at any age would wear a hand-knitted bikini?) and slacks (?!), most of the designs are modern and adaptable. With 20 or more projects in each issue, CK is a bargain. Hope these editors and designers keep up the good work.

5 out of 5 stars Why is this so expensive through amazon??   December 29, 2007

First off, I don't understand why this is so expensive through amazon. I live in an area that has no local yarn shops, no knitting clubs, etc. Yet I usually see this magazine in my local walmart or grocery store. So it is not hard to find. I have a subscription to Creative Knitting, ordered it through one of the cards in the magazine. I can't remember how much it was, but certainly not more than $15 or $20 for 6 issues.
As far as the magazine goes, it usually has a range of projects. None of them too difficult or complicated. I like that they always have some small, quick projects. While I may just dream about an intricate fair isle with steeks in another magazine, I will actually make a cotton dishcloth from Creative Knitting. You won't find cutting edge fashions or cashmere yarns here either. Most of the yarns featured are readily available at walmart, hobby lobby, michael's. The patterns are usually so simple that they are good for learning to substitute yarn. Overall, Creative Knitting is not as overwhelming or intimidating as some of the other knitting mags. Definitly a magazine that the beginning knitter should try. And good for simple, quick projects for the more advanced knitter. (But there's no reason to pay $75 for a subscription.)

4 out of 5 stars Knitting Away!   May 14, 2007

I ordered Creative Knitting on 4/13/07 & as of today, 5/14/04, have not received an issue BUT I have picked up a couple of issues off the newstand since the first of the year and have really enjoyed them. They magazines have great colored pictures of all the patterns, thorough easy-to-read instructions, and rate each pattern's skill level. I have worked up some of the patterns and they are fun!

5 out of 5 stars Knitting   July 15, 2007

This is my favorite knitting mag. Did my reorder through Amazon and waited and waited. The July issue finally arrived in a fairly mangled condition on July 13th. This is not okay. I suppose the problem could be with delivery by the U.S. Postal Service. Hope it doesn't happen again.

1 out of 5 stars It costs how much?   August 1, 2008
Valerie K. Nielsen (Denver, CO)
I'm rating this item based on the price, not the content. I love this magazine, but I have no clue why it's so expensive. There are plenty of other avenues to buy it (ie. directly) for $25 or less. $89 is just plain crazy.

We'll be adding even more exciting features to assist you in the coming year.
