3 out of 5 stars In vogue   November 25, 2006

A spin off from parent mag Vogue Knitting International, Knit 1 strikes me as as a publication geared toward young knitters, or toward those who knit clothing and accessories for teens and college students. The patterns tend heavily toward the funky and the trendy, using synthetic novelty yarns, beads, and other splashy embellishments. Few woman over the age of 25 would consider most of the items in Knit 1 for herself, but this magazine could be a valuable resource if you're interested in making a gift that a student would enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Wow   July 14, 2007

This magazine will appeal to the modern knitter, the hip knitter the knitter who wants to stretch....
It is colorful, well laid out and speaks to the modern woman...and man. It is great fun just to read through. It always has the kind of patterns that you are unlikely to find elsewhere.
It is about fun! New Materials...i.e. knit with shopping bags, recycle your t-shirt into strips to be knitted etc.
If you are looking for visual and fun this is the magazine for you

5 out of 5 stars Fun and funky!   September 28, 2007

I have just renewed my subscription for the second time to "knit.1". It and it's big sister Vogue Knitting are my favorite resources. Knit.1 consistently displays more fashion forward styles while maintaining the high quality fit and easy to understand instructions of Vogue. I enjoy the themed issues and have successfully completed several projects. The mohawk hat was a huge hit in our house! Some of the projects are truly wacky but it is always interesting.

5 out of 5 stars Knit 1 HIP Mag   April 15, 2008

Knit 1 is my favorite knitting/felting magazines. The Magazine targeting hip 18-35 year-old knitters, but if you are young at heart and love to knit funky new trends, you have got to check out this magazine. They have all sorts of interesting information on their web site, like the smashing the free pattern for their RECYCLE TOTE and it just screams green earth friendly. Check out this hip magazine and you will want to put it on your best loved mag list.

4 out of 5 stars Young, hip patterns   April 27, 2008

The patterns are obviously aimed at attracting young knitters or patterns you can make for your funky hip teen or twenty-something person. In this vein, there are some great patterns and if they're a little too funky, they can always be toned down. Occassionally there are also some nice crochet patterns and there is a variety of wearables, accessories, crafts. Overall I like this publication because it makes me imagine how else I could work a needlework project or re-work the patterns to make them more wearble for myself. Not for everyone, but I still give it a recommend.
