Subscription RIP OFF!! March 10, 2005 Sam (REALITY!!) 75 out of 77 found this review helpful
This magazine is great, but to subscribe for it here is a royal rip off!! You are paying more here than the cover price for the magazine. Use Fons & Porter's website to subscribe CHEAPER than here and you also get 2 free books!! Don't be fooled into thinking that this Amazon.com merchant subscription service is saving you money. BEWARE. http://www.fonsandporter.com/
Excellent magazine - just buy elsewhere October 22, 2006 S. Walton (Janesville, WI USA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting is one of only two magazines to which I subscribe. They have a wide range of projects, from easy to challenging. There are patterns for traditional piecing, applique, wool projects, even the occasional paper piecing. They've recently added suggestions for the quilting designs. Each issue includes at least two pages of general instructions in a "tear out and save" format (for example, how to make half square triangles). At the back of the magazine, they sell complete kits for most of the projects. This magazine has been around for 25 years, and Fons & Porter are well known for their easy to understand instructions. Their beginner book is a must for all new quilters, and their TV show is very popular. This is a wonderful magazine, but you can get it for much less by picking up one at the store and using the subscription card.
