Don't waste your money December 20, 2007 Shawn (Scranton PA) 7 out of 12 found this review helpful
Do not waste your money and order magazines on Amazon. They outsource your subscriptions to a company called Synapse that is a complete nightmare to deal with. I received 2 copies of my sub and after calling to check why was told that I canceled it and a credit was issued. My bank showed no credit and calling back to Synapse was met with a combative no-customer service rep. I didn't take the warning of other users with Amazon mag subs and paid the price. You were warned!
Great Mag October 5, 2007 kelo360 (Sacramento, CA) 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
Blender rocks for its tight witty writing and great photos. It also features a mix of all kinds of music. I'm pretty much a rap fan but Blender has exposed me to artists like Feist I now bump on the regular. Oh- and the movie and video game reviews are surprisingly good for a music magazine
The Best Major Music Magazine March 18, 2008 Bobby Allen (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the best major music magazine there is. Spin and Rolling Stone are more about "lifestyle" than music. Blender is all music. It's smart, witty, and very similar to what you'll get in Maxim, but it's about music more than women. If you get Maxim, you can usually get Blender for free. $10/year is a bargain though. There are more reviews here than any other major music magazine. More stories. More news. A good read from cover-to-cover. Try it.
Be aware. July 15, 2008 Melissa C. Lang (rochester, ny.) Blender Magazine may be filled with content beyond the average music consumer's dreams but I think people should be aware of Blender's "sales tactics" and what it really means to subscribe to this magazine. I signed up for a movie card YEARS ago and the promo was to receive a few free magazines....just sign up...well Blender has since taken it upon themselves to remove money from my account to continue their unwanted business with me and I don't even recall getting the magazines half of the time. For the record I don't recall signing anything to allow Blender to do that. More importantly, anyone notice how they make it near impossible for the average human to retrieve information to unsubscribe? I no longer back a magazine that would just take money out of accounts, there was no transaction between myself and Blender that would really allow them such personal financial information. It makes me so mad. I miss the good old days of Spin.... Boycott Blender, boycott magazines and websites that take advantage of its readers. No one cares about top twenty bands of the summer if it just means that they hope you won't realize you're occasionally 10 bucks poorer to their benefit. bad form, blender...boo.
