4 out of 5 stars This magazine is THE trend-setter for scrapbooking   December 6, 2003

Creating Keepsakes is the only scrapbooking magazine that publishes 12 issues a year. That alone is a good reason to subscribe! This magazine has always been the foremost authority on the craft of scrapbooking. However, in the last 6 months or so, it has really been pushing the envelope and has gotten more "out there" in what they show you can do with your art. Use of metal, polymer clay, and so much more has gone way beyond what the AVERAGE scrapper wants to do with her pages. Some people feel that CK has just gone a bit too far and is no longer a magazine that has layouts that are attainable by most scrappers.

I still love the magazine and will still subscribe, but if you're not interested in keeping up with the latest and greatest, and/or if you just want inspiration and ideas for your scrapbooks that don't take hours and hours, you might consider Simple Scrapbooks magazine. SS magazine is put out every other month by the same people that put out CK.

Happy scrapping!

5 out of 5 stars A must have for any type scrapbooker!!   July 1, 2002

This is by far the best scrapbook magazine out there. If you are a beginner, an expert, or somewhere in between, this is for you! 10 issues a year will inspire you constantly. I have been subscribing for 3 years and keep every issue. I constantly look at old ones to get new ideas- there are thousands in each issue and it's impossible to capture them all in one sitting! I practically skip into my house after receiving the newest one in the mail.

4 out of 5 stars The most improved scrapbooking magazine of 2003   July 26, 2003

Creating Keepsakes is one of the original scrapbook magazines, and possibly the most popular overall today. The focus of the articles does seem to be mostly on scrapbooking for families with small children, but CK has a great general scrapbooking appeal for a wide range of crafters and levels of involvement -- a "something for everyone" magazine.
This past year, I have noticed CK's layouts becoming cleaner and more, well...creative. There is more emphasis than ever on general design principles and less on fads. Also, I have seen more articles that reach out to scrappers without kids and men. Good job. However, there is still a tendency to ignore page ideas that eliminate the need for buying the latest products in the scrapbooking industry. More articles on layouts that can be achieved with the "basics" (solid-colored cardstocks and papers, for instance) would be appreciated by the frugal scrappers.
Because of CK's recent shift to monthly issues, it is the best scrapbooking magazine subscription value on the market right now IMHO.

I purchased one of these magazines and now I'm subscribing. This magazined is great for the expirenced or beginner scrapbooker. It has lots of great layout ideas and directions on how to create the layouts. It also gives new ideas and tips for making your pages look great.

5 out of 5 stars We love the creativity this magazine brings to us   June 28, 2004

This magazine is great. My daughter and I are doing projects together out of it every issue. It's great also because it is training us to be creative on our own, and to try new things. We also do these singing lesson Cds together- "Voice Lessons To Go" by Vaccarino- really fun, and have been doing Berlitz beginning Spanish Cds together. We love choices beyond sitting and watching TV!
