The New York Post has quite a history--founded over 200 years ago, the paper still goes strong. The photos and images are very good and the quality of the paper is just as good as The New York Times uses. The paper is inexpensive to buy on the street but the subscription price is great if you love this paper but can't get anywhere near New York City to pick it up every day.
On the bright side, The Post tells us the news--they have a list of facts about what Hillary Clinton got wrong in her speeches--and they say why. There are articles about the recent downfall of former New York Governor Elliott Spitzer and they do give you all the information that is important to the article. They have gossip columns for people who like such stuff; look for Cindy Adams and Liz Smith to contribute to the paper very regularly.
In addition, the sports section has always been a good one. Guys like that--and women often do, too!
On the downside, however, The Post leans a bit too much on sensationalistic headliners on its front page. Obviously they're trying to sell papers when they use this strategy--and it seems to be working. I personally don't care for quite such a sensationalistic slant; I would prefer something a little less "loud" for the front headline.
In addition, you should know that The Post leans toward the conservative view on political issues. This is fine; they have that right and I support their right to print articles and editorials with this slant. However, if you're a true liberal, you may want to find another daily newspaper to read. It's up to you.
Overall, The New York Post is one of the best selling papers ever and it has a lot going for it. You get the news, articles about celebrities, sports scores and much, much more. The ads for real estate are current and informative if you're looking for a new home, too. If you can, pick up a copy and give it a try--you just may like it, especially if you're a tad bit conservative on the issues of the day.

New York wouldn't be New York without the New York Post. It's been in publication for 200 years and I hope it lasts another 200. Years ago I became tired of Newsday's political slant (another new york paper besides the Times). Day after day the same standard-issue, yes, "liberalism" (I don't know why we still used that word, none of it seems liberal to me). Yes it's true, it's not in my head, I'm not crazy, there is a definite bias in the media, and Newsday is a perfectly cliched example of it. I picked up the Post, wary because I thought they were a sensationalist tabloid, and I was surpirsed at how solid, honest and entertaining this paper is. They do place way too much importance on entertainment, frequently sporting big pictures of celebrities on the front page, but they balance that out with hard-hitting investigative reporting and all the important current events and stories. The Post never takes itself too seriously. A good sense of humor permeates the paper, including some of the funniest headlines you'll find anywhere. But don't let that sense of humor fool you, the paper gets serious in it's editorial section. What a relief, for me anyway, to read opinions that are sometimes daringly politically incorrect, and anything but "liberal." Are they biased? Absolutely. But who wants to read the same old tired point of view from papers like Newsday and the Times. I want to hear the other side of the story, an opposing point of view. Newsday and the Times fail, for me, because they PRETEND that other viewpoints either don't exist, or are not valid anyway. The Post, on the other hand, knows what it is; a counterpoint to those other papers. They do not pretend to be unbiased. So in that sense, the Post is refreshing, and it's a paper I'd recommend to anyone who's looking for a daily reading experience that's informative and entertaining.

If you want first rate articles from Ralph Peters, Fred Barns, Dick Morris and many others, you can't beat the Post. But for all it's conservtive thought the paper is filled with saucy stories that appeal to other readers who need there dose of the absurd.
For all it's apperanances and outragious headlines (the infamous frontpage "French wealeses" come to mind) the Post offers solid views and does not tilt to the left like Newsday and the old gray lady.

There's a very good reason the NEW YORK POST has a bigger circulation in Manhattan than any other newspaper -- including the New York Times. In a word, it's fascinating.
From its screaming tabloid headlines and influential gossip columns (Page Six, Cindy Adams and Liz Smtih) to its must-read business exclusives and snappy editorials, the NEW YORK POST perfectly embodies the city's legendary swagger and distinct point of view.
Some criticize the NEW YORK POST for being conservative. Others deem it too gossipy to take seriously. But they're wrong.
Though the Post never hides its position on topics, this is actually a welcomed relief and one of the main reasons that on morning trains you will see hundreds of people reading the Post.
Some dive in for real estate coverage. Others love the sports pages. Still more appreciate the television and film reviews. No two Post readers are identical, but you can be sure they are among the most informed people in the city.
