Cozmo Girl, an insult November 30, 2001 35 out of 50 found this review helpful
I bought this magazine once because it had blink on it, that one was innocent enough, a few moths later, they featured Blink again, after i had finished reading the article, i decided to thumb through the rest of the magazine, i was insulted by the article, "How To Be Popular", i read it, and it was the most shallow thing i have read, inscturcting me to, "embarass yonger girls" "date a popular guy" and so on, bull, it was all bull, it was moraly degrating and self centered. I was also looking at other features, and as i looked at it, all i saw was shalow, self centered, beauty concerned topics. Sure, its a teen magazine, but what about articles that have to do with other things, i don't mind the, talking about beauty, but man, this is over the top, if you read this magazine on a monthy baisis, your mind will turn to meaningless mush, your vocab will shink and your knowledge and compassion will go right out the window. do yourself a favor, steer clear of this magazine, for your own good!
If I could give this mag more stars I would.... December 22, 2002 Emily (USA) 21 out of 23 found this review helpful
Out of all the teen mags I've ever read this is the best one... not only does it have the best fashion and make-up tips, it has the best guy advice you could ask for. The thing that sets it apart from all the others (parents pay attention!) is that it has a lot of feel-good features (such as interviews with inspiring women (political figures, businesswomen, etc...) career advice, school advice, and other things that will help every teenage girl feel good about herself and motivate her to become a successful adult (all without being a tad boring) The main reason I love this magazine is that it shifts away from the norm, and instead of passively following trends and enforcing its readers to do so, it encourages every reader to be an individual and helps her to find out how to do so. This is simply the best mag out there and I wish more teen mags were like it.
Best of the best... February 11, 2005 cassidrm 21 out of 24 found this review helpful
I think I like this teen magazine the best of all the teen magazines. It wasn't trashy and focused a lot on clothes and fashion. Which I love. It also had other things typical of teen magazines but it is a lot classier in its function. I think this magazine also delves into your inner-self and not so much about how you look (fat, skinny, curvy) but that you can look great no matter what your body shape is long as you love yourself. I think this magazine is worth subscribing to.
Not age appropiate December 2, 2003 16 out of 25 found this review helpful
I ordered a subscription for my niece as a Christmas present. I then went and purchased a magazine to give. I was appauled by the articles, pictures and topics. This magazine is not appropriate for young or teen girls. One article was "How to kiss a guy (the right way) to turn him on", half nude men as postcards to give to friends and other disturbing pictures/articles. I just cancelled my order. I do not recommend this magazine for girls under 17/18.
You Go Girl (Cosmo Girl that is) May 21, 2002 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
The parental side - I am 20 years old and I read regular Cosmo as well as Cosmo Girl. I love this magazine though. It has great advice and a different aproach to getting what you want in life. (It often shows girls ways to start thier own businesses and be successful). And a lot of this "go get'um" mentality I believe comes from Cosmo Girl's incredible editor, Atoosa, who is constantly sharing pictures and stories of the trouble she had when she was growing up. The teen side- This magazine also has great advice on boys and school. The fashion portion is no dud either and there are lots of stickers of your favorite boy bands. It's a great magazine for girls that need a positive role model (Atoosa Rocks)
