great magazine. don't buy it through amazon. November 6, 2003 S. Garfinkle (Austin, TX United States) 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
Magazines, Inc. is extremely unreliable. You'll wait 3-5 months for your first issue.
Very good modern aircraft mag! July 8, 2005 JT (Danbury, CT USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had no problems with my subscription since I started receiving it late 2004. My first issue arrived around the time that they said it would and have had no problems receiving it every other month. Covering current world combat aircraft news, aircraft details and air forces, it is a good purchase for the relatively low price.
Great magazine, horrible subscription service May 1, 2007 Dwayne A. Day (Vienna, VA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a really good magazine for current aviation enthusiasts. There is a lot of coverage of American aircraft and also international coverage as well. A unique aspect is articles on visits to obscure airfields or aircraft boneyards, for instance caves in Eastern Europe where old MiGs are stored. The articles are usually well-written (with some exceptions) and the photographs are excellent. The paper stock is excellent, with good reproduction of photographs. However, the subscription service is horrible. One reviewer suggested not ordering a subscription through Amazon, but I think that their subscription service is terrible no matter who is doing it. I subscribed and it has been nearly four and a half months and I have still not received an issue--they took nearly two months to formally log my subscription (the publisher handed off the subscription to another delivery service) and it has been over two months since then and still no magazine. It's ridiculous considering that the new issue has been on the newsstands for a couple of weeks and I still don't have my own copy. So, unless you absolutely cannot get it from your local newsstand, I suggest not subscribing. You don't save a lot of money, and you will save some anxiety wondering where your magazine is.
Better than most aviation magazines in the market October 4, 2008 Winston (Canada) As a regular reader this magazine is thus far my most favorite aviation magazine. Great photos, great commentary, news and articles. Their efforts in the past to shed lights on the less known air forces of the world such as Iran, Iraq, Eastern European nations and former Soviet republics are great and useful. All in all, this is a good read if you'd like to keep pace with the aviation and air forces' news from around the world. I like it. 4/5
