Product Description
Most children dream of riding a horse at one time or another, so it's not surprising when they clamor to know everything they can about their favorite four-legged animal. Enter The Kids' Horse Book, the ultimate guide to everything equine. It's brimming with information about pony and horse breeds, useful advice on grooming and basic riding techniques, fascinating facts, and more. Presented in a flexible format that encourages either browsing or reading from cover to cover, the book is set up to engage curious minds on many levels. One spread is a history lesson; the next, a horse board game. Readers learn such things as what the different parts of a horse are called, what animals are related to the horse, and how to recognize a good riding pony. But they also get to solve puzzles, unravel mazes, and learn to draw a horse — there's even a section full of horse-themed jokes. An abundance of detailed illustrations complement the text, while full-color photographs showcase this majestic animal, sure to add vivid detail to a young horse lover's dreams.

My daughter's favorite horse book! May 10, 2007 Sarah 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My daughter, who is 8, LOVES this book. She has been horse crazy now (like her mother) for a year and is taking lessons. The book has lots of very interesting facts that she is always quoting to us. She also really loved the list of "How to tell if you are horse crazy". She went down the list and marked every one except the last, shopping on the internet for a horse. Since her teacher was looking for a new pony, my daughter begged to let her help look for one. So my daughter was able to finally put down that she was certifiably horse crazy. The factual information is very useful for her and it is lots of fun. I highly recommend this book!

This book is informative and holds my childrens attention for a little while and they do ask plenty of questions. Still I know that they will enjoy it more & more as they get older. A great buy and would purchase again.
Spot on for Children Who Love Horses May 27, 2008 nettie hartsock (Austin, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good book in terms of introducing children to horses. I would also highly recommend that parents and children read the latest book by Joe Camp titled, "The Soul of A Horse" as a companion book to this one. The Soul of a Horse: Life Lessons from the Herd
