5 out of 5 stars mojack rules   May 2, 2008

There are many sides to Greg Ginn. Mojack is his freaky, funky one. The songs themselves aren't all that abstract, it's the soloing on top of them that takes the cake. Ginn's guitar sounds awesome paired with saxophone player Tony Atherton. The duo sound like a modern day version of what Coltrane would be doing if Coltrane was alive and into punk. There's a certain energy on this album that most free-form jazz doesn't have any more. Sure, Ornette Coleman had it, but noise jams like Mojack's don't come along every day.
