Clay Aiken may look wide-eyed and unassuming, but when it comes to figuring out what his fans want for Christmas, he's got it all figured out. On Merry Christmas with Love he so cannily anticipates the musical sugarplums dancing in the heads of his devotees that you half expect him to climb down the chimney and hand-deliver it. Key to the dozen-song collection's appeal is its straightforwardness: Parting ways with the sea of celebrities who use holiday discs as an excuse to cut loose, Aiken banishes irony and coyness so absolutely here that certain carols--the medley "Hark the Herald Angels Sing/O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Silent Night" especially--take on church-like tones; expect tree trimmers to put aside their tinsel and contemplate the meaning of the season. Yet don't expect them to miss out on any merriment. On less chestnutty selections like the ballads "Mary Did You Know" and Celine Dion's "Don't Save It All for Christmas Day," Aiken lets it rip, reining in a passion and pure-heartedness so believable that fans will wish he, rather than the guy in the red velvet suit, were Santa Claus. -Tammy La Gorce

Wow.... I can't even think of where to start... let me just throw a few things out there...
* I am obsessed with the song "O Holy Night" and have a habit of buying Christmas music just to hear an artist's rendition of it. Clay did a SPECTACULAR job on that song and truly knows how to hit the right notes on cue.
* I had never heard Clay before until buying this cd and after listening to the entire thing, I went ahead and purchased his first one as well - his voice really is outstanding, has a fantastic melodic range... is easy to listen to, he carries himself well. He has the looks of a teenager, but a voice I'd put in the same category with classic greats Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Nat King Cole.... and NEVER have I put ANY person in the same category as them... so that really says something.
* "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" - amazing vocal range, shows his true talent
The cd is very mellow, if you're looking for pop, you may be disappointed. But if you like classic christmas music sung by someone that can REALLY sing, then you'll love this.

Clay Aikens new Christmas Cd is one of the best I have ever heard. For the first time in years a Christmas CD has been made how it's suppose to be made. There's no oversinging, no hip hop beats, etc etc. It's the classic Christmas songs we all love sung how they should be sung. Clay Aikens voice is stunning on this cd, even better than on his debut Measure of a Man. The absolute highlight is Don't Save it All for Christmas Day. He gives a very powerful vocal performance and he hits a high note at the end that gave me chills. Merry Christmas With Love is another favorite. He also sings some favorite classic songs such as Silent Night, Winter Wonderland, O Holy Night, Joy to the World, and the breahtaking Hark the Herald Angels Sing combined with the just as stunning O Come All Ye Faithful. This is a wonderful Christmas cd that will be loved by many for years to come. If you have to buy one Christmas cd this year, then this should be it.

My wife purchased this yesterday. I listened to it last night with her, and with an attitude, as she is smitten with one Mr. Aiken. However, I do like Christmas music, so I agreed to listen, with a roll of my eyes. I promised, if I liked it, that I would write a review here. So here goes.
From the first song, O Holy Night, to the final one, What Are You Doing New Year's Eve, I was amazed. The musical arrangementa are top notch. Aiken's vocals are, in my opinion, unmatched by anyone in today's market. Anyone that can sing Sleigh Ride and make me want to listen to it again and again, has some kind of voice. I would list each of the songs, but the truth is, this is best Christmas album I have heard in years, maybe forever. I'll have to go dig up Elvis's. Yes, it is that good. No, I don't believe for one moment that "it is all about the voice" that my wife enjoys Aiken so much. I seen her looking at all those pictures inside the CD. Yes, I am jealous, but the guy seems to be as great of a person as he is a singer. That is most welcome in this day. Congratulations on a great Christmas CD.

Clay Aiken is my favorite American Idol, so I had to go out and get this CD. He has such a great voice, and he sings all of these Christmas standards well. My favorite track is Hark the Herald Angels Sing. Clay really shows the power and range of his voice. I like the song Joy To the World a lot here too. Clay sounds like he's having so much fun singing this song. He has an easy listening pleasant voice especially on songs like Sleigh Ride and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
Another standout track is O Holy Night. Clay sings this song just beautifully in an appropriate solemm tone that I love.
Clay sings two new Christmas songs on this CD that are excellent. Mary, Did you Know is a spiritual song about all the miracles Jesus Christ did. You don't have to be a Christian to enjoy this track though. This song is very moving and definitely one of my favorites on this CD. This is simply an awesome CD of Christmas music.

I looked at the last three reviews of this cd which rated this cd with only one star.
I have looked at their other reviews. Two people are Fantasia fans and they have written a review, giving Fantasia five stars for a cd that has yet to be released. The last one not only rated this cd with one star but has also rated Clay's DVD with only one star and that DVD has also yet to be released.
Come on people. Stop the hatred of this man who has done nothing at all to any of you. You do not have to knock someone down to raise another up. Clay is one very talented man and a great performer. Your reviews reveal more about you than Clay. This is a great cd. Like him or not, Clay is here to stay. You can continue to try to write bad reviews just so that the ratings of this cd will drop but the quality of this cd remains and that is, it is perfect!
I have yet to hear another Christmas album that is better than this one and trust me, I have lots of Christmas cds.
