Album Description Originally released in 1992 and now digitally remastered and available once again for the first time in 10 years is APHEX TWIN's seminal 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92'. Exploring the experimental possibilities inherent in acid and ambience, the two major influences on home-listening techno during the late '80s and early 90's, Richard D. James' recordings as Aphex Twin brought him more critical praise than any other electronic artist during the 1990s. Since making these early recordings originally released by R&S Records in 1993 (some allegedly and mind blowingly at the age of 14!), Richard James AKA Aphex Twin, has become synonymous with the finest in modern electronic music. Selected Ambient Works 85-92 reveals no influences and sounds unlike anything that preceded it, due in large part to the effects James managed to wrangle from his supply of home-manufactured contraptions.

| Customer Reviews:
Beautiful July 24, 2008 C. Bright (Melbourne, Australia) I'd heard nothing but good things about this Aphex Twin album, and it met all expectations. The songs are faultness, brilliantly made, and highly inspirational. For example, "Tha" is a lengthy song with little changes, but it never ceases to be interesting and relaxing. "Xtal" is one of the greatest pieces of music i've EVER heard...it just makes me so happy. There couldn't possibly be any improvements to this album because it's perfect. Everyone should own this, and noone has a good excuse not to. Put this at the top of your list of "things to buy"!
Best Album, Ever. August 24, 2008 P. Yurista (Orlando, FL) This is, undoubtedly, the best electronica album of all time. I Love this album. All of the songs. Period. From someone who has been in the music industry professionally, I have heard lots of music. And when it come to Aphex Twin, and any other in this genre, it ROCKS.
