Product Description
In our hectic times, the search for love is often reduced to a joyless exercise, a desperate manhunt, or a cold and insensitive game. As many of us have learned the hard way, these callous approaches can leave us in a rut of negative beliefs, unfulfilled needs, and blame. In trying to be someone we think will be "attractive," we lose sight of who we truly are and how to find the healthy and sustaining relationship that awaits us.Meditation coach Kathy Freston has been through that vicious cycle herself - and finally broke free. In this insightful and inspiring book she illuminates the path to greater self-awareness - and the real love we all crave. Rooted in Eastern philosophy, A Course in Miracles, and down-to-earth spirituality, Expect a Miracle is a new kind of guide to the search for a great relationship - one that puts the focus back where it belongs: on our own transformation.

5 out of 5 stars Expect a great little book....   February 28, 2004

I received this book as a gift at a crucial point in my life, and it's made a huge difference in my piece of mind. I highly recommend it to anyone who is questioning their past choices in mates and wanting to know how to break their old patterns in a very tangible way. This book concentrates on meditation and how intention and focus can make you magnetic to others.

Here is the chapter breakdown:

Step 1: Be still
Step 2: Invite grace in
Step 3: Know what you want and why
Step 4: Clear the way
Step 5: Source the miracle
Step 6: Find and express gratitude
Step 7: Stay the course

The steps presented here would work not just in attracting the right relationship, but really in attracting anything that you want in your life. Kathy Freston writes in a fresh and direct way. She presents examples of case studies of people that she's worked with, which illuminates the points she's making along the way. I can't wait to buy her meditation CDs.

I was expecting to find the same advice that most inspirational books give regarding relationships--in other words, how to snare a man! "Expect a Miracle: 7 Spiritual Steps to Finding the Right Relationship", focuses on examining ourselves and finding out what exactly we want in a relationship and then gives practical, clear, guidance to attaining our goal. The prayers and mantras are truly inspiring and the exercises given to help identify our patterns, are not only helpful but hopeful, as well. I loved this book and will read it often, to help keep me on track and focused! There is definitely something in it for
everyone!

5 out of 5 stars The Missing Link   May 9, 2003

This is a great book. It really is the missing link in the battle to overcome long-held patterns of getting involved in dead -end relationships. In order to finally overcome these difficulties, there must TRULY be a letting go of old patterns and a shift in energy. The author explains how to do this crucial spiritual work in practical, accessible terms.

I highly recommend this for relationships but equally to change other areas of life where we feel 'stuck'.
