Product Description Designed to uplift, mStand is made of a single solid piece of aluminum that matches Apple's MacBook Pro's sandblasted and silver-anodized finish. Working on a laptop can strain the eyes, neck, back, and arms. Prolonged strain may lead to health problems or injury. mStand raises the screen to meet eyelevel for better posture and view. It also raises the screen to the same height as external displays, such as the Apple Cinema Display. The tilt design brings the screen closer and improves airflow around the laptop. The single-piece aluminum design provides solid stability and the aluminum panel cools laptop by serving as a heat sink. With an external keyboard and mouse, mStand transforms your laptop into a stable and stylish workstation that you can work comfortably and safely at every day. This product is designed for the following systems:Apple MacBook;Apple MacBook Pro;Apple Powerbook.

MacBook Pro 15" April 22, 2007 Ian Groves (Hong Kong) 22 out of 26 found this review helpful
I purchased this for use with a MacBook Pro 15". I totally agree that the stand is of very high quality and beautifully designed. Unfortunately, I haven't found the product useful because the "slope" of the mStand is quite steep and the lid of the MacBook Pro cannot be pushed back very far. Sitting at my desk, I would need to open the laptop a bit further to get the screen angle just right, but I cannot push the MBP screen back any further, unfortunately, and the mStand's angle is fixed, so... This product would be very good with a laptop where you can push the screen open to a fairly wide angle or where the balance of screen angle, mStand angle, chair-desk-your height are all perfectly aligned. Otherwise, the mStand won't work so well "out of the box" and you might need to "help" it by placing things under it to play with the height further, thereby distracting from the "clean" design. Yes, the latch of the MBP is covered by the "lip" of the mStand, so you'd have to lift the laptop off the stand to open the computer or just leave it permanently open or not quite fully closed. Having said this, the optical drive is completely accessible when using this stand, not covered by the lip at all.
Looks like it was designed by Apple May 1, 2007 HLN (Orlando, FL) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Just got it today and what a beautiful stand. It made my 15 inch MacBook Pro looks so stunning. It gives it a floating look that is very modern. Looks like it was designed by Apple because the color matched perfectly with MBP. Even the box that it came in was high quality. I am very happy with the height. I would give it 5 stars but gave 4 because you can't get to the push button to open your MBP. I am leaving the lid open. Maybe this is a good thing because open and close the lid every day could weaken the slots :) Very happy and very very nice looking. It gives my MBP an even more WOW factor.
Great product with one glaring flaw August 18, 2007 C. Thatcher (Los Angeles, CA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This product is stable, organizes your cables, and looks great with any MacBook Pro. The glaring omission is Rain Design's failure to cut out a small opening in the support bar for the laptop lid push-release button. This means that EVERY time you want to open your MacBook Pro when it's in the mStand you have to lift up the whole laptop, push the release button, and then set it down again in the mStand. And because you have to raise the entire laptop up and down every time you want to press the lid release button, the adhesive bumpers that protect the finish of the laptop case from getting scratched loosen up and fall off.

My Mstand Laptop Stand arrived today having a 2 cm front slot cut out allowing for easy access to the laptop lid release button.
Keeps my laptop out of harms way January 11, 2008 J. Trexler 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My laptop was sitting flat on my desk, and I knew it was just a matter of time before I spilled something on it. So I considered this stand to be an insurance policy, as it puts my Macbook Pro out of harm's way. Overall, the stand is great. It lifts my laptop up to a better height for viewing, frees up some desk space, and keeps it cooler. My only gripe is that you have to be careful not to scratch the Macbook Pro's case on the edges of the stand, because the edges are a little sharper than I would like. I think I am going to take a file to the edges and that should fix that. The viewing angle is just fine for me, and I don't even have the screen tilted all the way back.
