Amazon.com Product Description
For homes that make frequent use of their local caller ID service, the GE 26938 supplies all the tools needed to make the most of it. The three-line LCD panel shows you the name and number associated with each incoming call, even if you're already on the phone. Memory stores up to 40 of these incoming calls indefinitely, allowing you to smoothly return calls, file numbers into permanent memory, and note the precise time and day those calls arrived while you're away from home.

With 40-channel autoscan and GE's Crystal Clear Sound technology, you'll enjoy nearly interference-free connections. Reliable 900 MHz analog operation steers you clear of most static. The handset comes equipped with belt clip and headset jack, for comfortable hands-free use, and is hearing aid compatible. GE includes a one-year warranty that covers parts and service.

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy this phone.   December 16, 2004

I used this phone as an extra one in the bedroom. While it is nice that I can turn the ringer off and the caller ID screen is lighted, there is no battery life. I have had the phone for about a year or less and have replaced the battery twice now. You cannot even talk on the phone for 10 minutes without the battery going dead. Standby only lasts a few hours off the base. The price is cheap but having to replace the phone every 6 to 12 months makes the phone more expensive.

This is a great little phone. My house is full of electronic equipment. The 2.4 ghz phones really interfere with other equipment as well as other equipment interfere with those phones. With the older type 900 mhz phone there are no phone or equipment problems. Great solution to messed up signals all over this house.

This telephone is a piece of crap. You know how cordless phones initially have to be charged for at least twelve hours before you can use them? Well, I charged this phone for over 48 hours and it STILL won't let you talk on it. No dial tone, no use of the keypad; the receiver doesn't even turn on when you press the TALK button. Leave it on the shelf and save yourself some money.

Do not buy this phone. The buttons on mine went bad and now everytime I try to dial a number they stick. It's very frustrating having to start over again.

This phone is a total piece of junk and a waste of money. As others have described, the battery holds MAYBE 5 minutes of a charge. Forget about it if you don't set it back on the charger when you hang up. The next time you dial, it'll be dead. I'm talking within minutes. The beeps are indeed annoying, as is the ring and the overall volume. I can't get a new cordless fast enough...
