Lots of Features at a Value Price for 3 Phones! May 18, 2007 Irvin M. Haas (Indianapolis, IN USA) 46 out of 46 found this review helpful
This is a great phone bundle that is very reasonably priced for a base station and 3 handsets with chargers. This phone has most features you would expect on a 5.6GHz system--digital answering machine, Caller ID, phonebook with up to 50 numbers, etc. But it has a few features that most cordless systems do not--Talking Caller ID, backlit white display on screen and Voice Enhancer technology for clearer reception. But like all cordless systems, it does have some drawbacks. I wish the handset keys were backlit so you could dial in a darkened room. There is no way to name each handset such as "Kitchen" or "Living Room." Instead each handset has a number from 1-3. Another drawback is that the answering machine does not display the current number of messages. Instead it just glows red when a new message comes in. The other major drawback is that many of the settings are hidden from the standard "Menu" key. Instead you have to hit the "Menu" button and input a 2 or 3 digit numeric code. Simple functions such as tone on/off or ringer select can only be found this way. The only way to find the numbers that control functions is by going through the manual. There is no "perfect" cordless phone out there. But for the variety of features and reasonable cost, the KX-TG6053S is hard to beat.
Not as good as previous Panasonics October 17, 2007 Mike (Madison, WI) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
I agree with other reviews that the phones just are not loud enough. It is difficult to hear others when talking on the phone, and it is somewhat to hear the person talking on the phone (when I receive a call from someone calling from home). Also, the answering machine volume is not that loud. In addition, our old panasonic showed the number of missed calls on the display when you arrived at home. This phone does not display the number of missed calls until you pick up a receiver and toggle the pad to display them. Then, none of the other receivers recognize that you have viewed the missed call list and keep adding to the number of missed calls. I still like Panasonic cordless phones, this one just seems to have taken a step backward from previous models I have owned.
Perfect for my needs August 1, 2007 Love-Lies-Bleeding (USA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I was looking for something exactly like this, and the Panasonic delivered beyond my expectations. Very easy to set up, great sound, excellent options, with all the features I want - but not with a whole batch of features I'll never use (which is what I hate about some of the phones out there -- too much functionality! not necessary, and in fact, confusing). I'm fond of gadgets you can start using right out of the box instead of having to invest a week in studying the manual. This is a breeze and having 3 handsets is incredibly convenient. If there's any flaw, it's that the phones don't sit as stably in the bases as they should: the slightest movement or brush of a sleeve and the handset falls out. Maybe I'm just a klutz. Otherwise, a great phone for the price.
just what we needed May 15, 2007 K. Frazier (California) 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
I really like the caller id feature with address book. It's easy to use. I also like that the phones take up so little space. My only criticism is that the speaker phone is not loud enough sometimes. Other than that, I really like our new phone system.
Works very well for a moderately deaf person May 24, 2007 Kathy in Omaha (Omaha, NE) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My husband is moderately deaf (wears strong hearing aids in both ears) so it is a challenge to find a telephone that he is comfortable with. He says that he hears very well with these without being "blasted out."
