Caller ID with Call Waiting lets you see who is calling before you answer the phone, even when you're on another call (requires service subscription from local phone provider). 5.8GHz frequencies allow secure, cordless communication within your home and immediate surrounding areas, up to 1,000 feet from base (can vary with the locations of the base and handset, the weather, and the construction of your home or office). The built-in answering system can record up to 96 messages, depending on the length of each message. Individual messages can be up to four minutes long, and total maximum recording time is 15 minutes. Messages will remain available for replay until you delete them. I have had this phone for over a year now. Within a few months of buying it the Ringer volume control stopped working. So now I have to unplug it while the kids are sleeping.
Second most annoying fault is that the conversation keeps getting cut. The other party thinks I am pressing some buttons. This happens every few seconds. So I have decided to replace my phone and look for some other model. Our other ATT phone ringer stopped working within a few months of buying. SO I am staying away from ATT this time.

After a few months the speaker now only plays at a very low volume even if I turn the volume up all the way.
Now I need to buy another phone.
I'm sticking with SONY for electronics from now on.
