Product Description 5.8 GHz digital spread spectrum operation * 5-line color backlit LCD display on handset * customizable wallpaper and images for LCD display * jack for optional headset *
Amazon.com Product Description Designed to be used with KX-TG5700 series telephone systems, the Panasonic KX-TGA571S digital cordless handset uses 5.8 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology for added clarity and a stronger connection. Because it uses the 5.8 GHz frequency, the handset operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology. The result is greater security, incredible clarity, and longer range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? The phone system's 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g WiFi. Add Images to Your Calls The cordless handset is designed around a 1.5-inch backlit LCD screen, providing space for images that you can upload to the phone via its USB port. This set includes a single handset, but the system is expandable to a total of eight handsets. Put the Phone Down While You Talk When you've been on hold for 10 minutes, do you really need to hold the phone? Not with the handset speakerphone. Just lis10 along, and press a button or pick up when it's convenient. You'll think up other great uses, like letting Grandma and Grandpa lis10 to their new grandchild at the same time, painting your nails as you talk to your best friend, or just being able to set the phone down while you talk.

Best Residential Phone System August 7, 2006 Mike Del (Connecticut) 23 out of 26 found this review helpful
This is a great home phone system. It has all the bells and whistles. You can input your own color wallpaper display, name each phone for its location, no obtrusive antenna, great quality, I could go on and on. The voice caller ID is sometimes a little strange, but having owned the previous version of it I'm used to it. You will recognize what it is telling you in very short time. I bought this system (I'm using six phones and a camera)to replace a Meridian (Nortel) system that cost four times the price. The camera monitors the front door from a window in the dining room. I can see who is at the door from anywhere in the house in full color. This is the best one line system available.
Best cordless handset I've used March 29, 2007 Five 28 (Chicago, Ill USA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I purchased the Panasonic base station with two handsets, and will eventually get a third handset. The features on this handset are everything that I was looking for. The voice quality is second to none and so far I haven't found any dead spots in the house as well as in my detached garage which is about 100' from the house. If I get tired of a ringtone, I just search the internet for another one that I like and download it onto the phone. I've downloaded pictures of family members into the handsets and when they call home on their cell phones, their cell numbers and picture appear on the full color screen. The only thing that doesn't work real well is the talking caller ID. Most of the time it is hard to understand, but I don't care about this feature and will disable it anyway. The handsfree speaker phone feature works well also, and is nice for those times when you are put on hold so you don't have to hold the phone by your ear for an extended time. The lighted keypad makes dialing easy at night, and the handsets feature a blinking blue light to indicate a new voice message waiting. I've had these phones for a couple of months now and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wanting a full featured, quality phone.
Disappointed previous Panasonic fan. January 27, 2007 Linda King-Blake (Rockford, IL) 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
Speakerphone base does not have a caller ID screen so you have to have the handset at the base in order to see who is calling. Caller ID announcer is difficult to understand. Cannot set answering machine pickup to more than 3 rings. We frequently cannot get to phone in 3 rings when handsets are on the charger. Do not really care for the process of checking & deleting messages. This is probably one of the best products out there with the features we were looking for, we are just disappointed based on the previous "outdated" set we have. Hoping that when we have to replace this set, Panasonic will have improved this version. Will definitely buy Panasonic again.
Corporate Greed run wild December 20, 2006 A. Rose (At the Shore, NJ) 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is probably the seventh or eighth Panasonic phone system that I've bought. It's also probably the last. They have stopped including the mounting for wall mounts and the belt clips in the box. Furthermore, when you call for them they expect you to pay an arm and a leg for them PLUS shipping & handling. What Nerve! Oh, the phone works but you don't want to have more than one 5.8 in the same house. They give eachother static. I hope this helps.
panasonic phone March 9, 2007 K. Shea 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a great phone. It has everything that I wanted in a phone and then some. The only change I would like to see made is the ability to shut off the LCD screen or at least dim it. It is very bright and sits next to my bed and will stay on all the time even when the phone is on the charger. It is really annoying at night. I just take it off of the charger at night and lay it on the nightstand face down.
