Amazon.com Review Bounty Hunter's Sharp Shooter II detector offers the excitement and profit of metal detecting for advanced users, offering extensive features. The fully submersible, 8-inch Bounty D-Tech search coil can help you find treasures under water or up to 5 feet of earth. The Sharp Shooter II has four modes of operation, ranging from an all-metal detection to a Disc Notch mode that rejects iron and nails and two modes that emit different tones for varying kinds of metal. The detector's digital LCD gives both target ID and depth readout, controls for the four modes of operation, and a low-battery indicator. Users will also appreciate Ground Trac, which automatically balances the machine to the soil condition, and Bounty Hunter's comprehensive, easy-to-understand online tutorial and downloadable manual at www.detecting.com. The Sharp Shooter II has a built-in speaker and headphone jack and runs off of two 9-volt alkaline batteries. Five-year limited warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

A great detector for the money! September 18, 2001 Scott E. Snow (Cincinnati, Ohio) 62 out of 62 found this review helpful
Bought this as an open box. What a great detector for the money. I had it out of the box and up and running in 5 mins. Very easy setup!! Took it to the back yard and found 3 pennies in the first 10 mins (one was a wheat penny). The LCD correctly displayed them as a pennies. As this was my first time detecting, the unit seems very easy to use. An excellent choice for those wanting a feature filled detector at a bargin price.

My Grandfather bought the bounty hunter sharp shooter 2 metal detector for my daughters and my self. They are 5 and 8 and love going to the beach to search for "treasure".
frustrated November 27, 2004 frustrated (usa) 5 out of 40 found this review helpful
one of the most important features that should be told is how far down the ground a metal detector can detect both coin size and large items. i'm annoyed with this and many other metal detector's descriptions which refuses to mention this more than important point. i'm shopping for my boyfriend and just because of all the annoyance i may just give up and get him a $10 tie for his birthday.
Okay for fun February 3, 2007 Patrick (Westland, MI United States) 3 out of 12 found this review helpful
Once nice feature is that it will tell you if it found a dime or quarter. You will soon find you heart pounding as you dig up a tin can thinking you found a fortune. Okay for fun, for kids.
Wondering about last review and others unsaid. August 29, 2006 Karl J. Cherry (FL) 2 out of 11 found this review helpful
I ordered one, but would like to know if on the last review if that is salt water or fresh and what kind of luck, and on the other update on further finds, as for the other review just find Google and type in Bounty Hunter and the name of the detector and you'll find all of that then knock it down to the best buy and or support which ever is important to you, I bought a detector when I was 13 by picking strawberries all summer I am 30+ years past that and I had a blast until I sat on it :< , I want that fun back! I know im kinda turning this into a Blog but its important for things left unsaid and more helpful for those checking it out for the first time.
