About equivalent to the weed hound May 12, 2008 jpr (CO, USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've tried both the Rocket Weeder and the Weed Hound (among other less-capable tools), and I'd rate them approximately the same overall. Both are pretty sturdy and both do about the same job with a similar level of ease. The Rocket Weeder pulls by pivoting upwards while you pull the Weed Hound straight up. As a result the Weed Hound is a bit more likely to get more of the tap root out at times, but it's also more difficult for the Weed Hound to get a good grip on certain weeds sometimes. The Rocket Weeder occasionally clogged when used in muddy areas, but nothing that couldn't be cleared with a couple extra taps or a drag across the ground. My daughter found the Rocket Weeder slightly easier to use since it only requires rocking rather than pulling, but I didn't find either motion at all difficult once you get the hang of it. On moderately moist ground both tools are quite capable of removing weeds, including most (and sometimes all) of a weed's roots if used with a little care. Both are far less strenuous to use than having to get down on the ground with a short tool. They do leave holes in the ground, but I think the trade-off is worth it, and you can always pretend you're aerating on purpose ;-)
A Must Have Garden Tool May 5, 2008 Spinner Vin (NY USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
After looking long and hard all the weeding tools on the market I ordered the Rocket Weeder. Most are cheaply made and or would break after a short amount of use. Looking at the mechanical design of the Rocket Weeder I knew it would get the job done with minimal amount of effort. It had rained the day my Rocket Weeder arrived so the next day with the ground still moist I put it to the test. I was right. I had only planed on weeding part of my yard but this is so easy to use and fun I did almost my whole yard. My lawn was loaded with flowering Dandelions but they were no match for the Rocket Weeder. This tool is well made works as advertised and is a must have for any homeowner who wants to rid his or her yard of weeds chemical free. It saves your back because you do all the weeding standing up. I can't believe there are so few rating for this tool here on Amazon. I see a lot of reviews for the Hound Dog weeder, not saying it does not work but I looked at one in Home Depot and it looks cheap and is made in China. Buy the Rocket Weeder you wont go wrong. Happy Weeding!!!!

This is a great weeder. Made very well and well worth the purchase price. Especially with the free shipping. I like that it has a easy release button, so the weeds don't clog up the end. I would definitely recommend this weeder.

I have really been impressed with this product---it works good! It took a couple minutes practice to get the "hang" of it but even I can work this! I would reccommend it to anyone interested in getting some of the weeds out of their yard---it certainly helps the back!

Yard Butler Rocket Weeder#RKT-1000 It's a very good product made of very good quality material. Although there was no extra charge for shipping for the 2 weeders, I'm not certain as to the reason for shipping each weeder in a separate box. One box could have easily held at least 6 weeders. Im very happy with the product.
