very easy April 18, 2008 Pdub (South Texas) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased several seeded rolls similar to this one and so far, after 2 weeks, these are the only ones which have come up vigorously. I am thankful that at least I'll have Thumbellina zinnia's if not anything else!
POOR product description May 21, 2008 Educated Consumer 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
First we have the animated drawings that depict a rolled up mat that appears to be about a foot wide and 2-3 feet long. But wait, further on we see a section of written description that says "Contains Six 4" x 6" seed mats - 72 planting squares". And then there is the "Product Dimensions: 8.5 x 5 x 6.4 inches". So..... I assume the Product Dimensions are actually the size of the box it comes in - hence the six 4x6 squares stacked in a box = 8.5 x 5 x 6.4. OK, but what's up with the 72 squares. How do six 4"x6" mats become 72 planting squares? And back to the cute animation - if I laid the six squares in two rows side by side so they form a foot wide mat, I end up with a 1 foot long mat - or in other words, a 1 foot square. Wait....I'm beginning to see some number magic here - 12" x 12" = 144 1" squares - or 72 squares that measure 1"x2". Oh....silly me - now I get it - the "seeds in a blanket" is actually 72 dominoe sized pieces with about 3 seeds in each (200 seeds divided by 72). Sorry - not impressed !! I can buy 2,000 of the same seeds in bulk for less money.
pitiful results April 18, 2008 Pdub (South Texas) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was purchased as a birthday gift and so far I am not happy with it. I followed the instructions to the letter and have had only a few flowers to germinate. It has been 14 days since I planted and it is going to be a skimpy, sad garden!
Nothing grew June 1, 2008 K. Reznek 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I followed the instructions and hedged my bets by laying it down between rain showers. I watered it faithfully for several weeks. Nothing ever sprouted.
no petunias!! June 14, 2008 Alice Kinkead 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
ok..it's been 5 weeks since I planted-both in pots and in ground. Followed instructions..and nothing yet..not even a tiny showing of growth. The instructions say 3 weeks....none!! so I can't recommend, if things change I will add to this review.
