sturdy, portable, easy, tough material. ...however March 13, 2008 S. Tsuong (San Gabriel, CA United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
i got a great deal on this item. I was looking for gas grill for the house. I was surprised to find this one that is totally portable. Easy to setup. just unfold the legs like tripod and that's it. snap in propane on each leg(one for the main grill) 2nd for the boiler/burner, and the 3rd if you happen to buy another boiler/burner. i actually timed myself and I was able to set up the grill in 4-5 minutes (with screwing in the gas) the boiler/burner attachment is very sturdy and makes a great stove to cook with your pots and pan. Dont expect to put anything over too heavy like a stock pot or you'll tip over this thing. also what I like about the grill is that there is a hard plastic container underneath that catches hot dripping oils. I would advise using an aluminum drip pan instead. Here's the cons: just be prepared to bring a long matchstick because I have trouble igniting it with it's igniter. There are sparks but it takes 1 out of 7 tries to get it to burn on its own and I am talking about the main grill itself. THe boiler/burner has a major issue with its ignition with the gas. I find it much easier to use a matchstick for this one. The main grill has a ring of fire if you wanted to know how it is inside. has a secure locking hatch for the lid. so when you carry it on the side it will not open. you may need to buy like a box to carry the boiler/burner and the propane (which can't be folded along with the grill. You have to take it out ..safety reasons also. I actually am glad that I got a portable instead of a stand alone because I can bring it to the park or where ever. makes a great camping stove
Cheap and damaged grill April 3, 2008 Unknown (Mi) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The grill is not worth the retail price of $199.00 The body is made of plastic and the cover of thin metal. I received mine with broken plastic and sent it back for a refund. I had only paid $64.00 so it would have been a keeper for that price if it had not been damaged. I did not order a replacement. The best feature of this grill is the fold-up leg design.
sturdy, easy, safe and solid- would give it 5 if not so heavy May 27, 2008 Sunnflwr 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great, fun, easy- nearly completely assembled out of the box. This is a very solid and stable grill, and the cooking surface is surprisingly large. I would give it 5 stars if : it was not quite so heavy and had better handles for when you did need to carry it. "Portable"is a stretch for this wonderful grill. It looks very nice for the price, and it easlly handles a full meal for a family.
great design & very portable March 19, 2008 Robert J. Mcneill (Shreveport, LA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was really hyped when my wife and I saw this grill at our local market at a very discounted price! Loved the neet design and great portability. Was a little heavier than thought it would be, but carrying the side burner seperatly, makes it a little lighter. Have used it once so far, and it cooked fast and well! Hot dogs and chicken pieces came out very good. I think the 5500 BTU measurement must be made by the heat build up after main grill is turned to high. Because the regulator really holds down the flame on this area. But once hot it cooks very quickly. Guess it doesn't need much "flame", the grilling plate really cooks at a good pace. Now the downs. If there is any .5mph + this grill is hard to get lit with the electronic starter! The regulator gets in the way again! With more gas coming out on "high" it would light easier. The side burner has no regulator and it lights with NO problem. Legs are tight to pull down, takes 2 people, but should get easier with time. Overall this is a very nice "camping" stove and grill! Dont overlook this item if you need a very portable modern looking grill to use on uneven or soft ground.
