Drainage is absolutely essential to the success of your Bonsai trees. Bonsai pots are designed to have lots of drainage and therefore have one or more large holes in the bottom. Drainage mesh keeps the soil in the pot, while allowing the water to drain correctly and allow air circulation. The right size of mesh is important and can bit hard to find. This is the stuff... You get two sheet of 8 x 4 inch mesh that can be cut to the size needed.
