Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In fall of 2006, the Guinness Book of Records confirmed that New Mexico State University Regents Professor Paul Bosland had indeed discovered the worlds hottest chile pepper, Bhut Jolokia. Bhut Jolokia, at 1,001,304 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), is nearly twice as hot as Red Savina, the chile pepper variety it replaces as the worlds hottest. A New Mexico green chile contains about 1,500 SHUs and an average jalapeno measures at about 10,000 SHUs. This isnt something youd pickle whole and eat, Bosland said, but it could replace dehydrated jalapeno as an additive. Other Names: Bhut Jolokia, Ghost Chili, Ghost Pepper, Naga Morich Caution: The fruits of this chile variety are extremely hot. It is advised to wear gloves when handling the peppers, keep them away from children, and thoroughly clean all kitchen utensils like cutting boards, knives etc. When grinding dried Jolokias, wear a breathing mask, protect your eyes. Don't touch any sensitive parts before cleaning your hands thoroughly first. And use these peppers sparingly - it is always easier to kick up the heat of a dish than toning it down. The plant you will receive is growing in a 3" pot.

1 out of 5 stars Very poor packing/shipping   May 18, 2008

I bought this pepper plant, it arrived dead, they put the pot in a box with packing peanuts, nothing else, nothing to protect it. It arrived with the dirt and roots out of the pot, dead, stem broken off at the root/dirt level. I emailed the Co and explained. They asked for a picture of what I received, but as I had already thrown it away I couldnt provide one as I explained. Didnt hear another word from them, no replacement, nothing. So I ordered one from another Co in Florida, got it in 2 days, large plant, healthy, was packed well. Think about it before you order. D.

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased!   July 2, 2008
James D. Cullen (Denton Tx)
My Shipment arrived a day early from the shipping estimate. I ordered The Chocolate Jamaican, The Red Carribian, and the Bhut Jolokia. They were packed the same as the previous poster indicated.
The difference being that because of the multiple orders the box was stuffed and the plants couldn't be jostled around inside. They even taped the planter containers to prevent the plants, and soil from spilling out.

I could see how the plants could be damaged by the U.S. Postal. My package was left at my doorstep upside down!

Well thanks again, I'm very pleased!
I'll tell you how the peppers turn out in 90 days! ;)
