Product Description Apart from looking really cool, bamboo cutting boards are the hottest thing to happen in kitchenware. Perfectly natural, bamboo is a new miraculous material for western civilization but among the oldest in the world. Structurally harder than Maple, Bamboo is a member of the grass family and doesn't need the care that most wood boards require. Bamboo boards are lightweight and can double as serving trays. The hard surface means fewer nicks and slices that harbor bacteria. Cooking can be fun and easy. A bamboo board is a kitchen tool that's an attractive, useful, complement to any kitchen.

Better than other wood boards at this price August 15, 2006 M. Dixon (Lincoln, NE United States) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
So far, so good. I have had this cutting boards for several months. I like the concept of bamboo (great durability & no trees have to be harvested). I have owned other types of wood cutting boards in this price range and experienced cracking or warping after initial use. Nothing so far with this cutting board. It is much heavier than I anticipated. Even thought it is heavy, it is thin enough to store easily. I have bigger, heavier cutting boards but this one has become the one I reach for first. Cleans up great. Works great!
Excellent bamboo board, holds up great. July 26, 2007 M. Su (Los Angeles, CA USA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Been using PVC plastic boards, upgraded to this bamboo board so hot stuff doesn't burn the board when it's just off the stove. Holds up great even with super sharp Shun Blades. Very easy to clean. It is kinda heavy, good part is it won't move around when you are working on it. Bad part is you can't just pickup the board with 1 hand to clean the bottom. Minor issue: Keep the bottom dry, otherwise it'll make a wet wood smell. Kinda nasty. If it happens, stand it against the window and let it dry under the sun. It'll get rid of the smell.

I love this cutting board! It cleans up very well, no stains, I feel that I am using the most sanitary cutting board available, and I threw most of my others away.
Great kitchen accessory June 29, 2007 Mtnclymber (Denver, CO) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Update: After about a year, even with oiling, I did get some cracks. However, I repaired them with Titebond III and that has solved the problem. I suspect this will last for years now. Not sure about the claims of hardness but this looks good, is well designed, and after a few months appears that it will last a long time. Be sure to apply mineral oil or it could split.
Outstanding September 1, 2007 Yosemite Sam (USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These cutting boards have sold me on bamboo. The board is hard enough to get crisp cuts on herbs and the reduced cut marks don't catch food particles. Plus they really add a rich look to the kitchen. Many people immediately start asking about them when they walk into the kitchen.
