I have used this mortar to crush many different food items and mostly hard calcium tablets and vitamins to add to smoothies and fresh juices. It is solid and carefree you will get many years of use from it. If you cherish fresh herbs and spices, you will love it! Also it's size and the design of the base make it easy for your hand to hold while your other hand does the pulverizing.
