Product Description The Tip-Trap Live Capture Mousetrap is made of polypropylene and is resistant to stains and odors. Tip-Traps are easy to clean and can be reused or disposed of after the mouse is caught. There are no harmful chemicals, baits or poisons used making it safe to use around children and pets.
Amazon.com Review While mouse infestations can be overwhelming, conventional "snap traps" often prove equally overwhelming to use. This tip trap has an ingeniously simple design that provides a safe, humane, and effective way to rid your house of mice. Simply remove the end cap and place peanut butter in the bait cup. Place the trap in a problem area and wait. As the mouse moves inside the trap to fetch the bait, the trap will tip up automatically, closing the trap door. Then you can release the mouse a safe distance from your house, allowing it to go on with its life and you to go on with yours.

Good buy! Mouse is gently trapped. April 5, 2007 Ivan Alfredo (Ecuador, Latin America) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I decided to update this review since after some practice I got the hang of how these traps can work at a rate of almost 100%. We recently had returned from a week-long vacation, and when we went into the house we noticed mice had been in the laundry room, nothing unusual since we live in the country. Got two of the Tip Traps and set them with the peanut butter bait as instructed and the following morning I had two closed traps and no mice. I checked the traps once again before setting them last night and realized that I had put too much peanut butter bait in the space provided, so the Trap had too much counterweight which caused them to close too easily. I removed most of the peanut butter bait(My mistake was to use Peter Pan (Tm) crunchy) and the peanut chunks, and left a small amount on each trap. This time I set five traps all around the house, and this morning I had four traps closed with four mice in them. I released the mice about one mile away from the house, all in the same place in the country. These traps work very well when you do not overload the trap with bait!
Good buy! October 24, 2006 Cat Lover (Louisville, GA United States) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought this because it was cheaper than everything else. I honestly thought they would not work but they do. They catch them quickly and the mice are easy to release. The only downside is that if you catch a small mouse it is hard to tell if there is a mouse in the trap or if the mouse just knocked in to it and closed it. They fall easily so just a bump from the mose and they close. Also they need a level surface to set up on. I recommend them as long as when you open them you are sure they are empty or not.
Inexpensive and effective but not necessarily the better mouse trap. October 9, 2007 Samuel Chell (Kenosha,, WI United States) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Just as I was beginning to lament the loss of my late beloved cat, I've discovered that the mouse colony that has replaced her brings its own rewards--the thrill of the hunt, the competitive juices of the eternal struggle of man vs. beast, the unending search for better weaponry. If like me, you were turned off after exterminating the first couple of the little pests (glue traps are as medieval as it gets) and are in search of an effective live trap, this one works, and it's easily the cheapest. But it takes practice. Maybe I'll raise my rating when my battle skills are more refined. First impressions of the "Tip-Trap." The Pluses: The price, the ease of taking on the enemy on multiple fronts, the enemies' inability to resist entering the little tunnel for the peanut butter reward. The Minuses: I started conservatively, setting out three traps. Seeing they had all tipped, I opened the first and shook it over my temporary "mouse aquarium." The trap was empty--no mouse, and no bait. I did the same with the second. Same result. With the third, I shook it, didn't feel anything, so I opened it away from the provisional "mouse house." A furry speck jumped out and disappeared in an instant (darn thing actually scared me--does that make me the mouse? I do like peanut butter). The biggest two minuses: 1. If the tube were transparent so that the trapper could determine if it contained a victim, the whole process would be much easier on both the hunter and hunted. 2. If there were more ventilation, or air holes, maybe the scared little creatures wouldn't be dripping-wet, half-dead but hysterical captives (one bit me twice--they don't carry rabies, thankfully). So far the better bet appears to be the (admittedly overpriced) "Smart Mouse Trap," a transparent miniature greenhouse. (The Havahart trap, I've concluded, has a too steep learning curve.) The greenhouse, moreover, leaves the mouse dry and relatively comfortable, so that his fur isn't all matted down by perspiration by the time he's discovered. (Believe it or not, these little creatures have individuality--in coloration as well as behavior.) Finally, an aquarium makes a good holding tank before transporting your colony to the country. Feed them standard rodent food, include a water bottle, use a screen top, don't keep them for more than several days. (Otherwise, some will perish and others will escape when you take off the lid.) What do you do during winter time? Give them a break. It's cold out there and food is in short supply. (Instead of removing the mice from the kitchen, I've opted to move the penetrable food supplies--bags and boxes--to places I defy them to find.)
You can catch more mice with peanut butter than with glue May 7, 2007 Jennette Marie Powell (Ohio) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
These really work! I ordered these mouse traps after unsticking a mouse from the glue traps my husband had set out - watching the poor thing struggle was horrible, and I was happy to toss the glue traps once these arrived. In two weeks, we only caught the one mouse with the glue traps. In five days, the Tip-Traps have caught *eight*. With the Tip-Traps, I don't need to worry about my dogs getting hold of these - not the case with the glue traps, poison or traditional mousetraps.
Elegant Design, Truly Humane June 16, 2007 Beads D. Land (New Cassel, New York) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Advantages of these traps: (i) Simplicity of design - a lever mechanism activated by the mouse's own bodyweight; (ii) no spring-loaded mechanisms or other moving parts - thus no risk that mice (dead or injured) must be extricated from a turnstile or other mechanism that failed to fully transport them to the enclosure (as can happen with some other "live" traps); (iii) obviousness - no peeking into shadowy enclosures through air-holes or opening a trap (and risking unintended escape) to figure out if anything was caught: a tripped trap can be seen from across the room, and the weight of a mouse within is easily felt upon picking up the trap; (iv) portability - I've actually dropped one of these traps in a jacket pocket on my way out of the house in the morning to release the mouse in a wilderness area on my way to work; (v) small footprint - unlike other live traps that are as big as a breadbox, I can put one of these traps on the top of the radiator runner along a wall (a favorite highway for mice) or in the space behind a piece of furniture mice are known to frequent; (vi) six in a set. One major drawback is that these traps do trip without a mouse occasionally, whether due to uneven floors or ambient vibrations. With six traps, however, this is a small inconvenience. My first evening using these, I caught five mice using all six traps.
