This extra stout stainless steel grill topper cooks delicate mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, or scallops over the grill without losing them to the depths below. The large, 18-by-13-inch grilling tray can grill a plethora of veggies or seafood. A perforated bottom lets heat circulate evenly through food for precise cooking. I cook with an infra-red grill that heats to ~2000 degrees. All of the thin stainless toppers that I had seen would warp under the intense heat. While this unit costs a bit more, I had high hopes based on its weight that it could do the job w/o warping.
The topper is extremely well made and sturdy. This is the best and well worth the expense.

This thing is a humungous piece of stainless steel - it must weigh 4 or 5 pounds. I can't wait to throw a bunch of chopped vegetables and shrimp on top of the grill. 5 stars for the joy of not paying a fortune for something built to commercial standards.

The super heavy duty grill topper is heavy but couldn't do the duty. I have a Vermont Castings grill (VCS5007)series. I put the grill topper on to warm up and I closed the grill and came back 15 mins later. Open the hood and saw that the topper was warpped already and it was the first use. What a disappointment. I checked out the temperture gage and it was pushing 600 degrees. I still use it but I now have a high and low section because its warpped. It is heavy but I guess I expected more from the product. Sorry...
