Amazon.com Review When cooking succulent meats, the standard barbeque often fails, drying up natural juices and flavor. To remedy this problem, Charbroil created its electronic rotisserie. The rotisserie fits every Charbroil and many other grills. Perfect for a small rump roast, Cornish game hen, or even a corncob, the rotisserie deliciously expands the boundaries of barbeque cuisine. The rotisserie rotates meat on a spit, allowing heat to circulate evenly. The rotating motion also allows the meat to self-baste in its own juices. With a standard electrical plug and detachable parts, the rotisserie benefits from easy installation and cleaning. A simple but attractive bamboo handle allows users to manually rotate contents. Charbroil offers a warranty for all parts. --Jessica Reuling

Works well but certainly not perfect December 8, 2005 E. White (Albuquerque, NM) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I received this as a gift and have used it about four times so far. It was OK to install, but interestingly enough the brackets don't fit my Thermos grill all that well. Surprising since both the grill and rotisserie are made by Charbroil. The motor mount won't adjust quite enough to allow the spit to turn without hitting the lid of the grill. I compensated by slightly propping the lid open ~1\4". You may have to remove the grills themselves to allow the food to turn freely. I was able to cook two chickens at the same time without much difficulty, but it would be nice if you could buy a second set of prongs to better hold multiple pieces. Overall, for the money, it's a great tool and the resulting food turned out delicious everytime.
Simple and makes excellent food! May 11, 2006 Talal Badra (Lansing,MI) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I believe the trick to setting it up is to try NOT to use the brackets that came with the kit! Buying a "universal" kit means that you're going to get everything you need to set it up with a dozen different grills, however, that doesn't mean that you have to use everything that comes with the kit! I only used one bracket, to hold the motor and on the handle end I just let it rotate on the groove of the grill itself. The rotating action allows the juicies to stay inside the roast or animal and it stays there allowing your food to be juicy and tender in a way that cannot be duplicated in the oven!
Good product June 27, 2006 maltdog 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Well, "universal fit," it ain't. Fortunately, I had tools to relocate some holes in the metal brackets. The spit and motor are some pretty heavy-duty hardware, and the whole assembly works flawlessly. So far, I've only used it with whole chickens, which came out perfectly. I mean, really tasty! It would be nice to have a second pair of prongs, though. Well worth the price ($35.80 on Amazon)
Finally perfection December 8, 2006 James Hanson 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
While the unit may or may not be "universal", it was easy to attach to my charbroil grill. As you may have read with others, the first motor would quit after about an hour. Second motor (same type) failed after about 1/2 hour. Third motor (different type, plastic instead of all metal) was great. Tested all different types of food and ended up cooking a 13 lb turkey, with stuffing. It turned for over four hours and was most excellent. While it took some hassle and some time, they finally made it right. I was out $6.45 extra for shipping/
Look for something else January 4, 2007 J. Thomas 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The motor on this unit is so worthless that it lasted on my grill only about 30 minutes before complete burn-out. I was so disgusted with it I don't even want a replacement motor from Charbroil. The grill I purchased from them (at Lowe's) works fine but the rotisserie motor Manufacturer/Supplier ought to be taught a course in quality control. By the way I purchased a "no-name" motor and it works fine. We live and learn.
