3 out of 5 stars Just my opinion:   October 17, 2007

O.K. I read the reviews before ordering the chair and again after getting and trying the chair. The truth is, every review is correct.

I think if you have not used an "anti-gravity" chair before you will be pleased. If, however, you've experienced some of the competition, you won't be all that impressed. Not to say that you won't like the chair, you just probably won't get too excited.

My chair came very quickly; just a few days. However, like another reviewer said, "it looked like it had been through a storm". It was packed poorly. When UPS delivered the box, the box was beat up and half open. It looked as though someone had tried to re-tape the box. I wonder if it came completely open during shipping or if it had been returned by a customer and then used to fill my order. There was no "stuffing" in the box to prevent the chair from moving around during shipping and it did get banged up a bit, but nothing major. The chair does wobble until I sit in it as well. I'm not sure why they call it an "anti-gravity" chair. Essentially, it's a hybrid between a beach chair and a lounge chair. It does not recline as much as I expected. For some reason, I expected it to recline enought so that my feet would be raised above my head. It doesn't; as a matter of fact, it doesn't even recline enough to make me horizontal. On the plus side, I think it feels pretty sturdy. I'm 5' 10" and about 235 lbs. and I feel pretty safe sitting in it. As a matter of fact, I was reclining in it and one of my small children decided to join me. Like some of the others said, it is a little on the heavy side. So if you plan on carrying this thing around, and you're not into hauling, get something that's lighter. On the other hand, I like the fact that it's heavier. I can leave in on my back porch and not have to worry about the wind blowing it into the pool.

In closing, let me just add that I bought this chair because I have a pinched nerve in my back. I expected the chair to allow me to raise my feet above my head to take pressure off the pinched nerve (now that I think about that, it probably wouldn't have worked anyways). I have never used an anti-gravity chair before, but I have used some recliners that did a better job. Of course, they were 10 times the price. Nonetheless, it is still a firm, but comfortable, chair. My point is, you will be either pleased or dis-pleased depending on your expectations and your intended use of the chair. I am giving it three stars because including "anti-gravity" in the product description was a little misleading and set my expectations for something that it doesn't do. I do think it meets the expectation for a "deluxed adjustable recliner" though. But that's just my opinion. Hope this helps.

5 out of 5 stars why give a bad rating to a product you never tried?   July 20, 2007

Yes, they were slow to ship, that does not make this product deserve a bad rating. It's well made, comfortable and a great value for the $50 I paid.

5 out of 5 stars Great Chair   August 19, 2007

Yes, it took a while for it to come in stock but the chair is great. It's comfortable, verstile and compact for storage. Since we just got it, we don't know how it will respond to the weather.

5 out of 5 stars Comfy & Portable!   July 13, 2007

What's better than a adjustable lounge chair with a pillow! This chair is great not too heavy for a lounger and is extremely comfortable. Excellent back support! This is a quality product and I highly recommend it!

2 out of 5 stars Mediocre at best.   September 8, 2007
Disappointed (Maryland)

I ordered two chairs and was pleased to receive the chairs within 5 days of ordering. But that's where it ends. One chair arrived in an open box and was severely damaged. I was also disappointed with the quality of the chairs. They are of mediocre quality and the frame could be sturdier. You get what you pay for and nothing more--in my case, less. Making the return proved to be a major headache. Amazon outsources their Customer Service Center to a country in southeast Asia. Although the representatives were pleasant enough folks, the language barrier made communication difficult and frustrating.
