A very good lawn mower July 25, 2008 George D. (Redwood City, CA) Easy to put together and very fun to uae. It does a very good job. I'm so glad I bought it.
Retro Lawnmower July 12, 2008 M. G. Hanson (Raytown, MO) Very pleased with this product! I mow my yard twice a week because some tall weedy grasses (crab and nut) are difficult to cut if allowed to get to tall. But the lawn looks great afterwards and I look forward to mowing and the exercise. It has been 50 years since I pushed a non powered mower, but it pushes easily and I can mow in the cooler early morning or late evening hours because it is so much quieter. Cutting more often and less length is probably better for my grass! Using a nonpowered non-selfpropelled push mower is better for me, my yard, and the enviroment!
An Adequate Replacement for a Gas Mower July 11, 2008 Douglas Black (Central Ohio, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had my Gilmour mower for about a month. On the whole, I like it. I expected it to be physically demanding to use, but it really isn't much harder to push than the average power mower. I have about a 1/4 acre yard, and it takes me less than an hour to mow. I think of it as getting a workout without having to go to the gym. On the downside, it doesn't cut quite as evenly as a power mower, and it doesn't even touch grass that's more than about 4" tall. I find it necessary to mow a lot more often as a result. I've also found that getting a fairly even cut requires overlapping swaths by 6" or so. The self-sharpening feature means that the blades are honing themselves with every rotation, which makes it pretty loud. I don't think it's as loud as most gas-powered mowers, but it's hard to judge since this is a more high-pitched noise. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. No maintenance, no gasoline, and it's light and compact enough to hang on a wall during the off season. Best of all, I don't have to wonder whether I'll be able to get it to start next spring.

works good, wish the handle was a little more heavy duty.cuts faster than my gas mower, guard stop it from cutting tall and stiff grass
Lawn Mower Nostalgia July 7, 2008 James Hendershot I purchased this reel push mower so I could mow my dogs pen without having to rake grass. It works great, is easy to push in all but really high grass. I wish the bag held more grass. But all in all it was a good buy. I would definately recommend it to someone for mowing a small area.
