The only problem with having a hummingbird feeder is that, once those hummers know it's there, they get hungry! Keep them satiated with this nectar. Dissolving instantly in water, the 24 ounces of powder make 4-1/2 quarts of clear nectar. You can store the moisture-resistant container in your garden shed or garage, and a plastic scoop is included. This product to my knowledge is completely untested. I suspect it because it says it requires no boiling--which sugestes that it may contain a preservative, yeast and/or bacterial inhibitor. This could not possibly be good for the hummers.
Listen to the experts such as Sheri Wlliamson (Peterson's "Hummingbirds of North America.") Sugar and water is just fine, filtered water best but NOT distilled.

If you read the label on this stuff it says 100% sucrose and that is what this stuff is plain and simple sugar. You're basically paying $10 dollars for something you could get at a grocery store for $1.50. This is a rip off! There is nothing special about this stuff in terms of size color everything!!! Just buy sugar!!!!!!

MY SUMMER HOBBY IS HUMMINGBIRDS. EACH YEAR I SEEM TO HAVE MORE. I LIVE IN THE POCONO MOUNTAINS AND EACH YEAR BETWEEN MAY 1ST AND MAY 5TH THE BIRDS APPEAR AT THE FEEDERS. I HAVE ALWAYS USED OPUS GARDEN SONG FEEDERS AND A SUGAR-WATER MIXTURE. MY SON SENT ME A SET OF NEW OPUS FEEDERS AND A 24 OUNCE CONTAINER OF "HUMMINGBIRD FOOD". THE HUMMINGBIRDS WILL NOT GO NEAR A FEEDER WITH THIS SPECIAL FOOD. I CLEAN THE FEEDERS AND MIX ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS ON THE CONTAINER. THIS WOULD BE A CONVENIENT WAY TO FEED THEM BUT IT DOESN'T WORK.
I WROTE TO THE ADDRESS ON THE CAN AND THE LETTER WAS RETURNED AS 'UNABLE TO DELIVER'.

Every hummingbird expert I've ever read says to make your own by boiling 1 cup of sugar in a quart of water. Make your own!
