| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Uscrew the nectar container from its base and remove s-hook. Wash the inside of the nectar container with hot water. A bottle brush may be used to clean the inside of the container. Measure and mix one part instant Garden Song Hummingbird Food with four parts water. Stir until the hummingbird food is completely dissolved. No boiling is necessary. Refrigerate the unused solution in a closed glass jar. It may take a while for the hummingbirds to find your feeder. For the first week to two, you can mix one part food with three parts water. This will make a sweeter mixture that can attract hummingbirds faster. Once the hummingbirds become regular visitors, reduce the amount of food added to the formula indicated above. Hold the container upside down and fill to the flange on the neck of the container. Screw on base, then quickly turn feeder to upright position and hang. Use of artificial sweeteners will cause malnutrition in wild birds when they feed regularly. If Garden Song Hummingbird Food is unavailable, your may use the following recipe: Mix one part sugar and four parts water. Add a few drops of USDA approved red food coloring. The manufacturer recommends you boil the solution to retard fermentation. Let the solution cool before pouring into nectar container. Do not place boiling water or nectar solution in container. Boiling water will damage container. Refrigerate unused solution in a closed glass jar. Use sugar solutions only, honey may be fatal to hummingbirds.
