Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Another great feeder built by and to Audubon specifications, this wonderful mesh thistle sock can be hung just about anywhere and it will attract many birds. It fun to have several of them going at one time. Made of durable woven nylon it is sure to attract goldfinches, redpolls and pine siskins to your garden. A drawstring will close the top for you, but you will have to add your own hook for hanging. Size is 11 inches tall x 4-1/4 inches wide.

4 out of 5 stars These work, but buy more than one   March 19, 2007

Our gold finches love thistle socks. But don't just buy one: buy 3 to 4 so that you can rotate them - one hanging, one clean, one dirty, etc. Don't reuse them over and over; clean them in your laundry (hot wash) to kill bacteria. The reason is that finches are prone to an eye disease (in the US at least) that will eventually kill them. Thistle socks are a great way to spread the disease. if you see this disease (crusty eyes, groggy birds), take down the socks for at least 8 weeks so it can work through the flock. Since we started cleaning/rotating the socks, we haven't had this problem since, but I wish someone had told us this when we started ten years ago.

We'll be adding even more exciting features to assist you in the coming year.
