Take your time placing this on the grill July 18, 2007 Long Time Amazon (Allen, TX USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Works well, but be careful using on charcoal grills. If you put the thermometer down on the cooking grate just after dumping the coals, and the coals are still super hot, the glass on the thermometer will cloud up a bit.
Helps control the temp of the grill July 9, 2007 RVfanatic 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This really helps to keep control of the grill. I also use it as an indicator when the propane runs out. I use this particularly when cooking ribs where maintaining a low temperature is critical.
A fair grill thermometer but not a quick read August 3, 2007 bookreader (Marina, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Outset F810 Grill Surface Thermometer is a fair product it does measure the heat of your grill but it does not adjust quickly if you move it from one location to the next... most likely because of the high heat it must take. It will let you know which part of your grill is the hottest and coldest, but again it takes a while to read the temp. I felt it was pretty accurate if left in one spot. I also used it to read my different temps for different gas settings.
Better than your palm July 22, 2008 mjammann (Santa Cruz, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hello - I've been using this grill surface thermometer for a couple of weeks now. I find it quite useful for mapping out the hot spots on my grill, and picking the best spot for a good sear. Much better than waving my palm over the surface. Don't leave it on the grill all the time though - mine turned black!
