5 out of 5 stars Yes, you should buy it!   April 18, 2008

Cons: Only comes in bright colors. Plastic arm rests were a little dirty when I pulled it out of the box.
Pros: About $20 cheaper than the next least expensive I've seen for this style chair, which sometimes goes for $100+, solid construction--I was surprised at how heavy it is, very comfortable for anyone from 5'3 me to 6'6" husband.
Conclusion? If you don't like the color, throw a beach towel over it. Dirt wipes off. The lime fizz color is brighter than it looks on my monitor, but I actually rather like it. When you first try the chair, be careful as it can recline WAY back (feet higher than head)...it is perfectly stable, but was a little startling. Otherwise easy to adjust and you can lock it into position if you want. I expect to spend many happy hours in it this summer.

5 out of 5 stars CRADLED LIKE A SAILOR . . .   May 16, 2008

. . . which I am not. They aren't advertised as such but these zero gravity recliners are designed to draw one into sleep . . . with ease. This reviewer is a fair test, being of 'advanced age' and in possession of FOUR replaced joints & a certain heft, :>) , yet able to maneuver in & out, up & down, without clumsiness.

What else can I say? I want one for each level of the house & to travel with . . . but use caution: shop around because my 'tried & true' was $50 in 2006, and some are priced outlandishly.

This is a product recommended with enthusiasm by a genuine user, who needs long legs higher than the heart.

4 out of 5 stars very comfortable chair   May 30, 2008

This is a great chair, which reclines over a nice range, but NOT such that your feet are over your head, like another reviewer claims (she was probably talking about the anti-gravity lounger; the photos provided by Amazon show the most reclined position the chair can hold, which is fine for a nice nap). I am not sure how durable the plastic locking mechanism is, but has been okay so far--the white ring under the armrests is what locks the position in place. The seat is somewhat low to the ground, which makes the chair stable. The lack of a foot support may be uncomfortable for some but I prefer the apparent safety of being able to stay in touch with the ground, at least for my elderly parents. For those of you interested in color coordinating with the garden chairs and anti-gravity recliner, keep in mind that the frame of this chair is white as pictured, not gray like the others by Strathwood. Lastly, the box it arrived in was quite beat up but the chair seems be to unaffected by the travel abuse, hopefully indicating that it will survive years of use.

I love my beach chair, it is adjustable and easy to carry plus easy to get in and out of. I have enjoyed many hours by the pool in it!

4 out of 5 stars Get Comfy on the Beach***   June 20, 2008

I have had this chair about a month now and have taken it to the beach three times. Is so comfortable! It is a bit heavy to carry but it's well made. The only negative about the chair is that the locks on the arms sometimes slip if you do not check that they are secure. (I really pinched my hand) That is the reason for four instead of five stars. I expect to have this chair for many summers to come!!!
