Too expense for what it is April 3, 2006 KK (Seattle, Washington) 28 out of 32 found this review helpful
The bench is ok - small and rough finish. I had to sand it and refinish it before I allowed my guest to sit on it. For $120.00 I expected better quality. One leg was also longer than the others - they really need to do a better job Q.C. the product before they sell it!
a very good bench for the money December 12, 2006 a reader (NYC) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
This was easy to put together and very attractive when finished. It is defninitely lighter than more expensive benches - on the plus side that makes it easier to move around in the garden. On the minus side a high wind can blow it over. It holds up better if you put wood preservative on it every year. I also put mine inside for the winter. I thought the finish was fine - sanded it a bit before putting on the preservative but it wasn't that rough. Even the more expensive benches (such as $700 & $800 ones from Smith and Hawken) end up with a rough finish after a year or two in the weather. The seat is curved and it's quite comfortable.
CEDAR GARDEN BENCH April 12, 2007 Rolla Jefferson 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
A WASTE OF LUMBER. MANY KNOTS , POORLY FINISHED AND VERY LIGHT WIEGHT. SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH ANY OTHER TEAK OR IPE PRODUCT. THE PRICE IS CHEAP AND SO IS THS BENCH
This bench smells great! April 24, 2007 Lady Di (PA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
If you like the smell of fresh cedar, you will love this bench! :) Very easy to put together. Good quality, sturdy! Looks great in the yard! Smells lovely, too!
flimsy and lightweight May 20, 2007 K. Idol (Charlotte, NC) 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
When I received our bench, it was split in two places and I had to return it. Our next bench was also split in one place but I decided to keep it. The wood is very lightweight and when put together it is not very solid. I would not buy it again - I'd put a little more money into a better quality bench.
