Product Description
Don't let your houseplants die of thirst due to your busy lifestyle. The Deluxe Plant Watering System is ideal for people who can't always be there to care for their plants. Since it waters up to 14 different indoor plants automatically, you'll know your plants are watered whether you're on vacation or just too busy to remember. At an average rate of flow, the Deluxe Plant Watering System can water 14 plants for two full weeks. The Deluxe Plant Watering System has a large, 7-liter tank capacity that uses an electric pump to water up to 14 potted plants automatically. An advanced water control system enables accurate flow, while individual adjustable taps regulate the amount for each plant. The taps insert into the soil and have nozzles that release an adjustable amount of water to each plant every 12 or 24 hours, as specified. You can even use multiple taps for plants in large pots, if desired. A long, 65-foot hose connects the plants to the Deluxe Plant Watering System. Taps are inserted at user-specified intervals to accommodate the plants to be watered. Connect the power adapter, and select the amount of water to be dispensed every 12 or 24 hours. The Deluxe Plant Watering System does the rest, shutting off automatically when the tank is empty. The water is delivered in short bursts at 30-second intervals in order to allow time for the water to sink into the soil. Please note: When the system is watering for 30-60 seconds each day, the motor noise is definitely audible, so you can either program it for every 24 hours (watering during the day) or plan the 12 hour time frame that is most convenient. Unless you are a heavy sleeper, don't program the plant waterer to go on during sleep hours as it may be loud enough to wake you up.

5 out of 5 stars no need to bother your friends when you leave town   September 30, 2006

i am so happy that i will never have to ask my busy friends to water my plants ever again! this system was easy to set up, with the only challenge being figuring out how much i normally water my plants. it did a great job when i was gone for a week. the other nice thing is that the long line of tubing meant i didn't have to move my plants around like i often do when a friend comes over to water them. however, one problem with the system is that, although it has 14 irrigation ports, the water pressure fell off significantly after the 10th port so that the last plants didn't get as much water while the first plants in line got plenty (and this happened even though the water reservoir was 2 feet above the level of the water line). i tinkered with the valves of the ports, but even with the last ports fully open, the water was only dribbling out them while the first couple of ports had a steady little stream. my solution to this problem was easy--i bought a second unit! now each one waters 7 plants. (you can also just put low-water plants at the end of the line.) also note that the water can shoot out of the ports by several inches (depending on the valve setting), so make sure they don't overshoot the edge of small pots. and your larger pots will do best with 3-4 ports in the pot. and of course, give the system a full test run a week before you really need it, and check each port to see how much water is coming out. hope i didn't make this sound more complicated than it really is. (i figure, if you love your plants and have alot of them, you'll want to know as much as you can about using this system.) remember, i bought a second unit because i really, really liked how it did the job that i needed it to do. and i didn't have to buy it any souvenirs as a thank you. ;)

I HAVE HAD THE SYSTEM NOW FOR 2 WEEKS--SO FAR THE PLANTS SEEM TO BE DOING GOOD. I NEED THE SYSTEM TO KEEP THE PLANTS HAPPY FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS I AM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH TO APPLY EACH TIME--I HAVE IT SET FOR 24 HOURS- I MAY HAVE TO INCREASSE THE AMOUNT OF FLOW BEFORE I AM DONE--BUT SO FAR SO GOOD-----WISH I HAD HAD THIS SYSTEM WHEN I HAD 15 PLANTS! THANK YOU FOR COMING UP WITH THIS-IS IS CHEAPER THAN PAYING SOMEONE TO COME IN EVERY WEEK AND WATERING --THANKS AGAIN "ASG"

3 out of 5 stars it is a good idea....but   January 3, 2007

Rather than each plant having its own `water-er' you have to string the hose and drippers together.
Since the water works on a gravity system you have to be careful how you place the plants, and then there is the adjusting of the drip amount into each plant...and the adjustment and the adjustment. Right now I have given up as my carpet around the plants was soaked when one of the drippers lost its grip in the dirt and was watering everything but the plant. I never have gotten all the hose straightened. Between the kinks and the `memory' of the hose (it was curled into a circle) it is impossible to keep the drip system in place in the plants.
If each plant had its own individual connection to the tank, I think the logistics and end result would be more satisfactory.

I find it a little too complicated to use. Setup time takes too long. The tubes running into and out of the pots are unsightly.
