Amazon.com Product Description The Mantis 6-cubic-foot load dumper makes hauling landscaping and gardening material safe and easy. The load dumper is easier to use and more stable than a wheelbarrow and more maneuverable and longer lasting than conventional garden carts. Its frame and handle are constructed of strong, sturdy stainless steel and utilizes push down pressure to effortlessly raise the front, allowing for easy, fatigue-free moving. By tilting the unit upwards, the unit kneels for stability and user comfort when loading. Most impressive is the chassis release latch that allows the load dumper to fully extend to quickly dump the contents while keeping the wheels on the ground for safety and stability. It features 14-inch memory-foam tires, which are designed to never go flat -- even when they're empty of air. The load dumper is a handy 32 inches wide (sleek enough to maneuver in tight, narrow spaces) and deep enough to hold 6 cubic feet of material while offering a hefty 350-pound load capacity. The durable, non-corrosive polyethylene tub and rust-resistant chassis will withstand years of heavy-duty use and exposure to the elements.

Difficult To Maneuver - Poor Ground Clearance November 14, 2007 Kikee (NY) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I had been considering a Muller's SmartCart (they are in Maine and they cost about 300, not including shipping), but when this Mantis LoadDumper fell to about 105 I thought I would give it a try and save more than 200 off a SmartCart. Even though I did save, I think it was a mistake. Unlike regular wheelbarrows and garden carts you have to push **down** on the handles to get it off its knees, and then it starts rolling. Unfortunately, because you are pushing down, the cart has a tendency to scoot forward and away from you (kind of like how a dolly tries to get away from you when you push down on its handles to get it from standing to rolling). This makes it far harder to nimbly maneuver it around the yard/garden. Further, the cart has a very low ground clearance due to those knees upfront and they are constantly hitting rocks or roots, bringing you to an abrupt stop. You can't see those knees either because of the pan above them and so it is a constant guessing game as to whether you will be able to avoid that bump or rock. The load dumping feature works well, but really no better than a garden cart or wheelbarrow. The frame is surprisingly solid given that the main longerons (the front-to-back rails) are each two-piece that you have to bolt together. The tires are foam-filled so they don't have the liveliness of pneumatic tires and cannot bounce above an obstruction. But, I guess, they will never go flat. Having used wheelbarrows and garden carts almost every day for over 20 years, I cannot recommend this cart.
