Amazon.com Review Used by police, drug enforcement teams, and the military for training working dogs, this super-tough toy stands up to jaws of steel. Even if your dog's job rarely takes him off the couch, the Kong Extreme's goofy, unpredictable bounce makes for hours of chasing and fetching fun--just the thing for animals whose life in the wild consists of tracking, killing, chewing, and then doing the same thing all over again. When you're away, simply stuff the hollow interior with treats or gooey peanut butter, and extracting the contents becomes a "hunt" to keep any pooch happy and busy all workday long. Chewing Kongs helps promote strong jaws, clean teeth, and general oral health. Even aggressive "power chewers" will find it hard to bite through carbon-formula Ultra Flex, and dogs with separation anxiety or problem behaviors like barking and digging will especially benefit from the mental and physical stimulation. Kongs are made in the USA from a thick, flexible rubber that's non-toxic, non-splintering, and puncture-resistant. This black Kong Extreme is appropriate for medium- to large-sized aggressive chewers, including smaller Labs and golden retrievers. Supervised play is highly recommended, especially when first giving a Kong toy to your dog. Regularly inspect the Kong for cracks or missing chunks, and replace worn or damaged toys to avoid a choking hazard. Satisfaction is guaranteed; if either you or your dog aren't happy with your purchase, return within 30 days for a full refund. --Mary Park

Good News/Bad News May 21, 2007 Thomas Skiba (Alexandria, VA United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The good news is that my 70 lb. Labradoodle loves this and almost any other chew toy. The bad news is that it took her about an hour to tear it into tiny pieces. If you have a strong chewer then this is not the right toy for them (but what is).
Loved! January 11, 2006 puppyraiser4theblind (WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My lab puppy was given this toy because the Kong Company says "it's indestructable". I wouldn't exactly say it's indestructable, but for dogs that enjoy a challenge to chew, this is an ideal toy. I would recommend it for labs, retrivers, and other big dogs.
Poor Quality October 18, 2007 Brent T. Hodgeman (Minneapolis, MN) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Surprisingly, the regular version of Kong works better. This is said to be "extreme" for "power chewers," yet it was chewed up in just 1-2 days. The regular (cheaper) red Kongs seem to last much longer.
For Agressive Chewers January 9, 2007 J. Brakora (Lakeland, FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Still the best item out there for agressive chewers. That doesn't mean your dog won't eventually manage to get it ripped apart, but it does take longer than anything else out there. Much better than the Orca toys which only take minutes to destroy.
Love it March 23, 2007 Maureen Sturgis (Ann Arbor, MI) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my daughters boxer who LOVES it. She chews it, plays with it, and carries it around. I have 2 pugs who are not interested. They only play with "plush" toys but, if you have a serious chewer, teething puppy or larger dog that would destroy stuffed toys this is teriffic
