Product Description Never forget to feed your fish again. This battery operated unit dispenses flake food to your fish twice a day, holding enough for up to four weeks. It's the safe, accurate, and easy way to feed your fish. Perfect for ensuring your fish are fed regularly while you're away and ideal for everyday feeding. Helps prevent overfeeding which can clog filters and pollute the tank. Simple knob control adjusts food quantity. Mounts to tank with clamp or operates free-standing from tank hood. Requires one AA battery which is not included. Thoughtful gift for any aquarist. Daily-Double Automatic Fish Feeding Instruction sheet To open cover, slightly raise lock tabs one by one while lifting cover off. Fill drum with flake fish food. Note: Larger flakes should be broken up to prevent clogging of feeding tube. *See note below. Regulate quantity of food by turning adjustable food dispenser. At the + setting, the DD-AF2 will dispense the maximum serving per rotation, at the - setting, the minimum. Before attaching food drum to motor spindle check food quantity by rotating the feeding drum clockwise over a sheet of paper. To increase or decrease quantity, rotate food dispenser tube to + or - setting. Load fresh AA battery (not included). Mount food drum onto one of four positions on square spindle and check drum rotation by inspecting after one hour. Clockwise movement of feeding tube should be equivalent to that of the hour hand on a clock. Clamp onto tank frame and secure tightly with screw.

Didn't think of that... November 27, 2005 Ghosted (Seattle, Wa United States) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I thought this would be the solution to leaving my fish alone for a week. I tested the feeder for a week prior to leaving for vacation. Seeing that it worked properly I placed the feeder over the opening in my tank and left for vacation. The moisture that evaporates from the tank got into the feeder and made the flake food wet and unable to fall out the tube. Unfortunately all my fish died and I now know the reason no one has ever recommended this product to me before.
Works great for me! December 8, 2005 Alylou (wisconsin) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have had one of these for over a year and my fish are thriving! This is a classroom tank and is even left for weeks at a time over the summer; the feeder has never failed me. I do leave the lid of the tank as closed as possible without interfering with the feeder to avoid moisture in the feeder. I am actually visiting this sit right now to buy another feeder to attach to a send, new tank for my classroom.
Bad Design, Poor ly-made and Doesnt Work December 6, 2006 Chris Liew (Orlando, FL United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this for $11 and have been testing it for a week. The battery compartment is hopeless - almost had to force the batteries in (and I did check to make sure I used the correct batteries). There is a tube inside the rotating drum which is probably driven by a typical clock mechanism. The tube has a cut-out that catches the fish food when it is at the 6 o'clock position and as it rotates to the 12 o'clock position, the food falls out of the other end of the tube into the water. This cut-out is far too small for typical flake food or 1/4" pellets. I had to chop the flakes into small bits so that the cut-out will collect the right amount of food. Having done that I filled the drum with about a quarter full of food and put it the battery. Well, I hear ticking and put a tiny stick at the top of the drum to see if it actually rotates. Next morning, the stick is still there. Dead battery?? I try again with a brand new battery and hear ticking before I go away - my marker is still there next morning. I suppose the clock might be working but the mechanism that drives the drum is kaput.
Good Product February 11, 2006 Charlene (USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have been using this feeder for a few months now, and it has worked very well, although one must be careful not to put it over a filter that might cause moisture to get into the feeder. I find the feature of the feeder turning like the hour hand of a clock very useful. It allows me to adjust the exact hour at which the fish are fed. However, the reason that I am not giving it 5 stars, is because the lid is difficult to snap off, and after doing it a few times, one of the clasps cracked. Otherwise, it is a well-made and reliable product.
A piece of Junk May 24, 2007 J. Conrad 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this feeder and it hasn't worked right from day one. It ticks like a clock, but it doesn't move an inch. I even marked it with a piece of tape so I could see if it is moving. I doubled checked the battery as well. This was extremely disappointing. I wouldn't trust this product to feed my fish even if it suddenly decided to work (which I don't think is going to happen).
